Real life Simpsons recreated with AI is terrifying to watch

Someone has brought the family from The Simpsons into real life using AI – and we won’t be sleeping tonight as a result.

AI has become used a lot in modern technology, whether it be for something innocuous like finding out what Oppenheimer would have sounded like as a singer, or something a bit creepier like speed cameras that can watch you inside your car for tiny infractions.

This new video somehow manages to fall into both camps, it’s innocuous and harmless but it has creeped me out beyond belief. Take a look:

Fans on X (formerly known as Twitter) took to the platform to say exactly how creepy they found the real-life versions of the characters.

One account was very to the point and simply said: “That thing is cursed holy sh*t.”

Another replied saying: “This is an absolute nightmare”, and I couldn’t agree more.

The video, created by ‘Demonflyingfox’, is overlayed with an old-timey announcer presenting the town’s inhabitants in all their creepy glory, giving it very much a 1950s sitcom vibe.

Of all the inhabitants it’s not quite clear who I find the most creepy.

That’s a lie, it’s Krusty the Clown.

But add to that a gaunt looking Mr Burns that looks straight out of a horror movie, Marge, who could be taken straight out of a Tim Burton movie, and the ever-creepy sideshow Bob – and it’s a recipe for disaster.

One reply said it was ‘half horror and half comedy’, whilst another said: “That hits more like a trailer for a Stephen King novel than a sitcom.”

Whilst we absolutely agree, now all I can think is how much I want a Stephen King written episode of The Simpsons.

The Simpsons also aren’t the only famous fictional characters that AI has brought to life.

An AI version of Family Guy was created last month – which honestly, looks far more normal compared to The Simpsons.

Peter may be a bit more intimidating, but clearly the Seth Macfarlane show lends itself far more than Matt Groening’s Simpsons.

As well as that – another AI artist recently used the technology to forecast what the characters from Harry Potter would look like now.

With it being based on real people, the results are far more normal than The Simpsons or Family Guy, and in many cases is quite a cool view into the future.

Apart from Dobbie and Voldemort. They creep me out normally, let alone 15 years of wrinkles later.
