It's a good time to be a fan of all things superhero - especially if your interests lie further towards Marvel. In the past year alone, we've seen movies like Captain Marvel, Avengers: Endgame and Spider-Man: Far From Home hitting cinema screens, and there's more to come when the studio moves into its much-touted Phase Four.

OK, there's recently been the small matter of a dispute regarding Spider-Man, and whether he's likely to appear in future Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movies - all owing to the complex licensing of Marvel's various superheroes. But that aside, these are heady days for true believers in the gospel according to Stan Lee.

Well, here's some more good news - Disney Parks has unveiled the first image of its forthcoming Avengers Campus attraction. It's a 'Marvel Land' style superhero experience that's set to open in 2020 and it looks amazing. Here you go:

OK, doesn't give too much away, but it's enough to get fans excited for now. The attraction will be part of Disney California Adventure in the US and Disneyland Paris in France, Disney Parks has confirmed.

According to a blog by Thomas Smith, Disney Parks' editorial content director, this weekend's D23 expo will see further plans unveiled.

He wrote: "At Disney California Adventure and Disneyland Paris, we've already shared updates that we're building immersive Super Hero themed lands. Today, we're thrilled to announce these fantastic lands will be called Avengers Campus.

"When guests visit Avengers Campus, they will become part of an interconnected, global story that spans from California to Paris to Hong Kong with the Avengers recruiting new extraordinary people to join them.

"Inside our pavilion at D23 Expo, guests will be able to see an in-story experience where they'll learn why the Avengers are building these campuses. And on Sunday, we'll share more details about what our guests will be able to experience when they open."

Sunday? We can't wait that long! Although, in all fairness, I guess we're gonna have to.

As for the Spider-Man licencing battle, it looks like a group of fans have decided to take matters into their own hands.

With many viewers somewhat miffed at Sony (which ultimately owns the rights to the character) for withdrawing the webslinger from the MCU, and therefore the Avengers series, a Facebook event was set up on Tuesday which - according to the description - involves attendees dressing up as Spider-Man and breaking into the company's offices to 'bring our boy home'.

The Facebook event reads: "We storm Sony Pictures in solidarity dressed in Spider-Man costumes and bring our boy home!"

On the upside, the post goes on to add: "This is a peaceful demonstration and violence will not be tolerated."

It's like Area 51 all over again, isn't it?
