Don't worry, there shall be no spoilers, lads

Gritty British crime films are ten a penny these days, with streaming sites packed full of them.

But while most tend to be be virtual copies of one another, one 2021 flick has been praised for its originality and devastating ending.

The brutal revenge thriller stars Neil Maskell (Football Factory) as Bull, who returns to the scene to get payback on his old gang who did him over.

A synopsis for the movie, titled Bull, reads: "Ten years after he was last seen, a vicious mob enforcer returns home to find his son and methodically track down the gang that double-crossed him.

"His quest for revenge soon leads to a savage showdown between his wife and her mob boss father."

Bull, starring Neil Maskell, has been praised by fans.

When it was originally released a couple of years back, critics were blown away by Paul Andrew Williams' film, which he wrote and directed.

So impressed were they that it currently has a huge score of 93 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, which is no mean feat.

Analysing the movie, Kevin Maher wrote of Bull: "What makes it so watchable, even despite the stomach-churning violence, is Williams’s clever, non-chronological narrative, which layers in the suggestion that all riddles will be answered with one closing knockout revelation."

Filipe Freitas remarked: "With a devilishly intelligent move toward the end, the film shows the evil that contaminates the hearts of these criminals. It will hook the viewers without sparing them."

Singling out Maskell for his turn, Joey Keogh said: "Neil Maskell's performance is truly astounding. He inhabits the role of Bull to an increasingly disconcerting extent, communicating a lifetime of hurt and anger even while torturing and killing people."

And it's now gaining some fans who missed it first time round after it was released on Netflix.

The film's ending has blown viewers away.

Taking to social media, viewers have been full of praise for the film itself and Maskell's gut-wrenching performance.

"Watched Bull on Netflix and yeah, it's incredible," wrote one fan. "What an ending."

Another commented: "Anyone who likes revenge films...Bull, on Netflix is rather good. 93 percent on Rotten Tomatoes...Reminded of the great Dead Man's Shoes."

"Don’t know how a brutal revenge flick starring Neil Maskell got past me two years ago, but fortunately Bull is #1 on Netflix now," put a third.

While someone else added: "Bull is excellent! It’s like Dead Man’s Shoes reborn as nightmare and it doesn’t let up from start to finish. Another superb turn from Neil Maskell too!

"It’s on Netflix now. Highly recommended!"

Bull is currently available to watch on Netflix now.
