Video game fans have been forced to scour the internet for clues about the release date of GTA 6. And a vital piece of information may have been dropped by a very unlikely source.

A new announcement on the release date of GTA 6 was predicted by an insider in a matter of weeks after months of Rockstar Games keeping fans in the dark.

Now, the inconsistent world of stocks and shares could have given a huge indication another announcement could be imminent.

GTA 6 has been confirmed to have a Fall 2025 release date, but there's been scarce information from Rockstar as we approach the summer, with some fearing the game could be delayed.

Fans have been clinging onto the excitement from the initial trailer since its launch, with no signs of anything more about the gameplay or the storyline released by the company.

However, a new development from Wall Street has give a huge indication that more news is on the way.

GTA 6's publisher Take-Two Interactive has spiked on the stock market of, reaching an all-time high of $222.69 per share as fans expect the release of the much-anticipated video game before 2025 is out.

Self-described 'stock market aficionado' Roy Mattox is confident the spike is a major clue that fans will be playing the latest instalment of the record-breaking game very soon.

On X, Mattox was confident the Rockstar game would not suffer another delay after fans have waited nearly three years since the game's formal reveal.

"Market expectations are very positive as Grand Theft Auto VI will be released later this year," Mattox shared to X after a Take-Two conference call in May was touted to release more information on the franchise's next steps.

After years of feeding on scraps since 2022, fans are less than convinced after being burned one too many times by Rockstar Games and the elusive franchise.

"People trading stocks know just as much as you do," said one disenfranchised fan on Reddit, as a 12-year wait between the fifth and sixth versions of the game takes it toll on tired video games fans.

It's fair enough, really, as fans not legally old enough to play GTA V upon its release could be hitting the big 30 by the time they're playing the next instalment of the video game behemoth.

What we do know at this point is GTA 6 will be Miami-inspired much like 2002 classic Vice City and feature the franchises first-ever female playable character. The first trailer for the game was released in December 2023.
