It's hard to imagine that anyone could sneak into the BAFTAs.

After all, surely there's heaps of security to get through before someone could even get close.

And even if they did somehow manage to get in, there's no way they could end up on stage with the cast and crew of Oppenheimer - right?

Well, that's exactly what one prankster did, after he snuck into the awards show and ended up on stage for the final award of the evening.

YouTuber Lizwani took to the video-sharing platform where he told followers how he managed to pull it off - and people are stunned.

He explained how he first went to London around a week before the event, which took place at the Southbank Centre.

The YouTuber said he sussed out how the building worked, both on the inside and outside, before returning the day before the BAFTAs to observe the security systems.

He explaplanned his entrance route, and returned on the big night (18 February).

Lizwani snuck into the BAFTAs.

Wearing a suit, with a black hoody, a high vis and using two random lanyards that he'd had from past events, he made his way to the gates.

"I'm walking towards these two security guards who are having a conversation at a gate. As I walk past them I just try and act confident, just look at my phone, act as though I'm in a rush to go somewhere," Lizwani explained.

"They don't even look at me, they just mid-conversation while still talking, move out of the way, and I just walk right in-between them and carry on walking."

He said that he then encountered another security guard who asked him where his wristband was.

Lizwani told him he'd shown the previous two security officers and the guard didn't question it.

He then walked through a small gate and straight into the building.

"It took me exactly 99 seconds to go from outside with the public to being inside the BAFTAs building," Lizwani said.

The YouTuber explained how he did it.

He then went to the toilets and took off his hoody and his lanyards, before entering the ceremony and sitting down on an empty seat to watch.

Incredibly, Lizwani managed to watch the whole show before deciding to head up on stage when Oppenheimer scooped the final award of the evening for Best Film.

When it was aired live on BBC One, Lizwani could be seen standing alongside actor Cillian Murphy, director Christopher Nolan and producer Emma Thomas.

He explained: "When the speech was over I said to Cillian Murphy, 'I can't believe we won' and he was like... 'yeah'."

Lizwani claimed he was only found out after he started filming at the after party which isn't permitted.

A security guard challenged him and he claimed he ended up having to delete the footage after the police were called.

People were absolutely stunned that the YouTuber had managed to sneak in, with many pointing out the obvious security concerns.

Lizwani noted: "Hopefully security can use videos like this to strengthen their security, obviously my intentions for doing this were pure.

"It's mad to think what could have potentially happened if someone without pure intentions had done the same thing."

At the time, a BAFTA spokesperson said: "A social media prankster was removed by security last night after joining the winners of the final award on stage.

"We are taking this very seriously, and don't wish to grant him any publicity by commenting further."

LADbible has contacted BAFTA for comment.
