A woman from Texas says she was left 'in shock' after waking up to discover blood dripping down from her ceiling and onto her face.
It's the stuff of nightmares and horror movies, but it became a grim reality for Ana Cardenas from El Paso when she awoke to the sound of dripping at about 4.00am and discovered the horrifying scene in her bedroom.
She told news outlet KTSM: "It grossed me out. I was in shock, I thought, 'This isn't real, this is a dream, wake up.'"

It turned out that the blood had come through the ceiling and leaked onto her ceiling fan, which had then sent it splashing off around the room, as well as onto her bed and body.
Cardenas continued: "I called maintenance and they said, 'Are you sure?' and I said, 'Blood is falling on me.'"
Eventually, the emergency services were called and responded to the upstairs apartment.

Upon entering, they discovered the man upstairs had died of natural causes and his body had been decomposing up there for five or six days.
"The firefighters knocked down his door and the body was laying exactly where my fan is underneath. He had carpet but the blood seeped through to my ceiling," Cardenas explained.
Now, she's decided she needs to start looking for a new apartment after the traumatic incident.
She initially went to stay in a hotel for a few nights, but she's now completely understandably taken the decision to start house-hunting.

Cardenas added: "It was awful, an awful impact."
She's since started up a GoFundMe page to help pay for her temporary accommodation, as well as new clothes and personal items after hers had to be thrown away due to the contamination.
On the fundraising page, she wrote: "An unfortunate death occurred in the apartment above mine which resulted in me having to immediately evacuate my home.

"Bodily fluids began leaking from the ceiling contaminating all my personal belongings: bed, furniture, clothes, sheets, and much more are now destroyed and had to be thrown away due to biohazard.
"Others and I made several attempts to contact the managers of the Cielo Vista apartment complex with no response or return of my phone calls.
"I have no other means of shelter and now all my belongings have been contaminated.
"This requested go fund me assistance will help with temporary shelter, replacement of my clothing and much needed personal belongings.

"Any assistance is highly appreciated in this time of need."
So far, the page has raised more than double the initial $5,000 (£3,500) goal.
LADbible has contacted the managers of the Cielo Vista apartment complex for comment.
