Taking to TikTok, a user - who goes by the username of Anxiety Trainer - explained how he worked to combat his feelings of anxiety and panic by putting himself in situations even though he had felt scared of them.
"One hack you'll learn when you're recovering from anxiety, what I learnt... is that you've got to go," he said.
"Whatever it is you're not doing now, you just go out and do it and you bring those symptoms with you. Whatever they may be."

He then went on to explain the most important to do when you're feeling anxious about a situation is to carry one going despite your symptoms.
"Repeat, keep going," Anxiety Trainer said. "You get knocked down five times you stand up six."
The user acknowledged that while you may not feel better about a situation instantly, it's important to keep showing up.

"You just keep going, time and time again," he said.
"Eventually as you continue to go your body desensitises and those symptoms will be a thing of the past.
"So keep going."
It's important to note that this method of forcing yourself into uncomfortable situations won't work for everyone, however, his advice is based on a treatment technique commonly used called exposure therapy.

As the name suggests, exposure therapy involves exposing yourself to a situation which is known to cause you anxiety in a managed way - with the goal of helping your body not go into fight or flight mode.
By using a controlled scenario to re-condition the brain into linking an object or scenario with a more positive response, it can help a patient overcome their original fear.
Several viewers of the Anxiety Trainer's video could also relate to using the technique to overcome symptoms of anxiety, with one person commenting: "This is the truth.
