Do you ever just think ‘f**k it, I’m gonna go move to another country’? OK, maybe it’s not the most common thought.
But you’ve got to admit, the idea of leaving the UK behind to live somewhere else does sometimes feel tempting.
And for this couple, it was the reality as they decided to push it to the max, buying a £7,000 property in Bulgaria without even seeing it first.

Yep, Lewis and Jordan were so fed up with things here that they decided to look further afield for a place to live.
The Bournemouth couple have documented their now viral story on TikTok as they share an insight into life in their bargain Bulgarian home.
The dad previously explained how back in 2022 the pair had dreamed of both owning their own home ‘and farmland’. They wanted to be able to raise livestock and grow their own produce.

“However, with an acre plot of land ranging anywhere from £300,000 to one million in the UK, this dream soon became pretty unrealistic,” he said.
And at the time, the couple couldn’t qualify for a mortgage.
Lewis added: “So instead of giving up on our dreams, we decided to look elsewhere.”
Admitting they got ‘pretty lucky’, they bought the house online for £7,000 ‘without even looking at it’ - even if it did need a lot of work.

Not even considering a place with farmland, Rightmove says the average house price in Bournemouth is £339,499. So you can see why that £7k might seem tempting.
Ready to relocate, the couple sold a load of their possessions, packed up a caravan and made a 1,821-mile journey to settle into a countryside cottage with a big garden in Southeast Europe.
With three bedrooms, a bathroom, a living room and a kitchen, the property also has a garden annex and an unbelievably huge barn.

They’ve got a five-year residency there now and assure they can renew it ‘when the time comes’.
In one of their YouTube videos, Lewis said while they ‘risked it all’, they ‘could never afford this much land in England’.
Lewis and Jordan now boast a huge following on their social pages and users say their journey is ‘fascinating’ and are fans of the ‘endless’ garden.
While some worry they would have a problem with the ‘mafia’, the couple assure they’ve had ‘no problem from mafia whatsoever’.

And they added: “Once you get a taste of what life should be like, it’s hard to turn back.”
