It's not entirely unusual to see people sparring in a gym, but it's not often that those sessions turn into actual fights - which is probably why people couldn't stop staring when it happened.
From weights and skipping ropes to bars and cables, there are a lot of items in gyms that could cause some damage if used incorrectly. They're also, famously, the home of very strong people, so all in all they're not a great place to get into a fight.
That didn't stop two people doing exactly that in one gym, though, with viral footage shared online showing the moment the pair started throwing hands at each other at a Fitness Connection gym on Tuesday (29 November).

In the clip, posted by Twitter user @ChickenColeman, a gym-goer behind the camera could be heard asking whether the two people were 'playing' or really fighting.
Another onlooker assured it was all real, and all doubt soon gets swept away as a man dressed in white smacked another man in red hard in the face.
The pair navigated their way through the gym equipment as they continued their fight, and while thankfully neither of them seemed to catch on to the fact that there were a lot of makeshift weapons around them, they threw more and more punches until the man in white ended up on the floor.

All in all, the entire thing looked pretty intense, and could probably have done with being broken up. That being said, not one of the dozens of people in the gym did anything about it, even as the man in white got up and continued the fight.
One onlooker decided to narrate the scene with a high pitched howl-like sound, while others just 'helped' by moving out of the way as the two men continued to move their fight around the gym.
The brawl went on for more than a minute and a half before some other gym-goers stepped in to break it up, pulling the men apart and leading them to opposite ends of the room.
As they shared the video, @ChickenColeman wrote: "This why I don’t go to the gym at 5pm."

We'll probably never know what the two men were fighting over - maybe one stole a machine just as another was heading over to it? Or bought the last Lucozade from the vending machine when the other was in dire need of some electrolytes?
Whatever the cause, the pair did at least get a workout in.
A spokesperson for Fitness Connection told Fox News: "We are aware of an incident that occurred inside one of our locations on November 29, 2022.
