Yeah, yeah, size isn’t everything, size doesn’t matter. But that doesn’t mean plenty of people don't obsess over it – there’s a reason the ‘d*ck measuring contest’ metaphor is used.
So, even if you won’t admit to having a thing about size, there’s some good news to start the year off with.
That’s because the average British penis length has ‘grown nearly 10 percent in two years’. Ah, patriotism, get waving the union jack in celebration for that achievement lads.

And a health expert has shared all the factors that explain just why this rise has occurred.
Back in 2022, the average size in the UK was 5.17 inches and new figures in 2024 pulled that up to 5.63 inches when erect.
That works out to a hefty 8.9 percent increase and brings us further up in the world rankings.

Brits now sit in eighth place in terms of penis growth but we’re now quite up in the charts for overall size as the country ranks in 60th. Then again, not too bad lads, not too bad.
Venezuelans are far superior in growth though, as the average penis length for their country grew by 1.42 inches in the same amount of time, putting the average erect penis there is 6.67 inches.
Dr Chun Tang, medical director at Pall Mall Medical, spoke to Metro to explain the changes to the male anatomy across the world. "Over long periods, human anatomy can change due to evolutionary pressures," he revealed.
"For instance, traits perceived as advantageous for reproduction or sexual selection might become more prevalent."

Basically, men with bigger members might be having more children than men with smaller or previously average sized ones.
In addition to this, the health expert believes that another reason is that different populations have mixed, making the general population more diverse, affecting penis size.
Increased immigration and countries becoming more culturally diverse is also a factor, while environmental factors such as health and fitness play a part too.

He continued: "Improved nutrition and health during developmental periods as a child and teenage years, can lead to better overall physical development including genital growth."
Working out increases your endocrine function, when your endocrine glands release hormones into the bloodstream, playing a part in your growth and reproductive health in your earlier years.
And hormones are crucial, as Dr Tang explained: "Levels of testosterone during puberty, play a significant role in the development of secondary sexual characteristics including penis size."
