Now that 2024 is essentially done with and 2025 is on the horizon, let’s get into the little-known secret you can use to your advantage to get two whole months off work (and it’s totally legal).
Okay, so we all know that this year has disappeared like The Avengers when faced with a snap of the fingers from Thanos, and it’s maddening.
However, it’s time to start anew, people.

Unless you listen to what Baba Vanga has in store...

Anyway, to make sure that you stay on top of the holiday scramble next year, we’ve got the best thing you can do to ensure that you’re getting the time off that you deserve.

So, here’s how you can do it.
Basically, you’re going to manipulate the system to your advantage and by system, I mean the bank hols.
You’ve got Easter’s Good Friday off work on 18 April (well, most people do) and then you’ll have that nice long weekend with Easter Monday (21st April) off too.
So, if you book four days off on either side, you’ll end up with a whopping 17 days off (counting in all those weekends between), using a measly eight days of annual leave.

Do you see how ingenious this is? But there’s more.
In May, you’ve got bank holidays on 5 May (a Monday) and 26 May (another Monday), so again, if you take four days off after each, you’ll get nine days of holiday for each booking.
In August, your Monday bank holiday on the 25th can give you another nine days off if you do the whole four day booking off thing again. Then, consider your Christmas time off.
You’ve got bank holidays on the 25th and 26th of December as well as the 1st of January. All you have to do is book like this, and you’ll have 16 days off.
Book: The 22nd, 23rd, 24th, 29th, 30th, 31st and 2nd January to enjoy the festive time to eat, drink, dance and nurse your hangover in peace.
Now that you’ve got your plan set, enjoy beating the system in 2025.
