You could be saving even more money on your McDonald's meals and you don't even know it!
A regular at the fast food giant explained to other customers that they should be keeping hold of their receipts after they order, even though it's likely the last thing on your mind when you're stuffing your face with nuggets and chips.
Posting a photo on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains Facebook page, one thrifty diner explained how keeping the McDonald's receipt could get you a discounted Big Mac and fries.

Alerting other fast food fans to the hack, they wrote: "MCDONALD'S HACK. Don't throw your receipt and use it for the discount. I always keep Mcd receipts in my wallet for use it in the future.
"Doing the survey doesn't take more than 2 mins.
"£1.99 for Big Mac + medium Fries (yes you have option to change the burger). Sometimes I change it to Quarter Pounder. Big Mac + Fries without receipt= £3.09 + 1.19 = £4.28. With receipt = £1.99 You save £2.29
"If you and your partner use same hack (yes you need 2 receipts on separate orders) you can save £2.29 x 2 = £4.58. Enjoy!!"

And since you *can* swap out that discounted Big Mac for whatever burger you want, it'd be silly not to try the newest burger on the MdDonald's menu - especially if you're trying out Veganuary for the new year.
Maccies has had the bright idea of doubling up and launching the Double McPlant burger, which has not one but two Beyond Meat® patties, following the success of the original McPlant burger.
The Double McPlant features two Beyond Meat® patties, a vegan sesame bun, mustard, ketchup, vegan sandwich sauce, fresh onion, pickles, lettuce, tomato and vegan cheese.

McDonald's say the burger is cooked separately from other dishes, using dedicated utensils.
The new Double McPlant will cost £4.89 on its own or £6.49 as a meal - but if you've got a discount code, you could get it for even more of a steal.
It will be in all restaurants across the UK & Ireland from Wednesday 4 January 2023.
