The YouTuber twins said it was 'not good' when they realised what they were up against in the Missouri cave

A pair of YouTube explorers have horrified their viewers with footage of what they encountered deep in a massive cave.

Subscribers to James and Edward's YouTube channel Action Adventure Twins had their skin crawl as they witnessed the twins exploring a cave that a commentator identified as the Cathedral Cave Missouri in the US.

Posted in 2023, the clip chronicles the twins' descent into the cave's chambers and narrow passages.

There, James and Edward encountered a crackle of spider crickets, some bats and even a pretty big lobster.

There was one terrifying moment in particular where the pair were in a cavern absolutely crawling with spider crickets, with one of them ruefully saying: "Look at all these crickets. That's not good. This is like cricket passage."

While the twins seemed relatively unfazed by the fauna populating the cave, viewers flocked to the comments section to share their terrified take.

"Cave noises, tight passages, super sketchy drops, that's all great... BUT SPIDERS? That's where I draw the line bro," one person noted.

Another user wrote: "Normally the only thing that freaks me out going on these adventures underground with y'all is the tight squeezes, but this one had to throw in big creepy crickets, bats, dead animal skulls and SPIDERS.

"I am not sure I can finish watching this...good GWAD yall are nuts :)"

One person said their 'soul left [their] body' at the sight of spider crickets, with another pointing out that the Missouri cave was one of the few caves explored by the twins they didn't wish to see for themselves.

"OK, usually i really wish that I could go visit those caves, even the scary ones, but THAT one? with all them spiders and spider-looking crickets? heeeeeeell no," they wrote.

"Bro, for real - I am good with mostly everything else I have ever seen in his vids (minus small gaps through water) & a few of the vertical 300ft+ repels. but HELL NAH MY GUY... I see that many spiders & I am GONE!" was another comment.

As if the cave itself wasn't pretty scary enough, James and Edward's mission didn't start on a great note given that their car broke down right as they approached the cave.

One fan didn't fail to notice the horror-worthy intro, writing: "Ah yes, a broken vehicle and going into a cave? This doesn't sound like a horror movie at all!"

And in another creepy moment, they come up against a massive gate blocking their path and stopping them exploring the huge cavern beyond.

The pair noted it was 'crazy' someone had installed the gate 'so deep', adding that it took 'dedication'.

They wrote in the video caption: "We came across a gate with a sign saying it's been gated for our protection."

Spooky, right?
