Back in 2015, a man faked his own death and ‘walked on his grave’ for a chilling reason.
The explanation behind why he did it truly sounds like something out of a film. But the more you learn, the more you can understand it actually being real. Well, kind of.
Relationship on the rocks
Ramon Sosa and his wife, Maria ‘Lulu’ Sosa, had been married for three years when he ‘started seeing the cracks’.

He explained to Fox News Digital that his wife started changing how she spoke to him and ‘carried herself’ after gaining her American citizenship.
And while he continued to try and make it work, it ‘was hard’, only he didn’t realise quite how hard and serious it was about to become.
Ramon and Lulu owned a gym together where a new client called Mundo began training. Ramon became a mentor to ‘Mundo’, while his wife began complaining to him.
A harrowing twist
Not long after she filed for a divorce and one evening Mundo heard her talking to her teen daughter about a big shot’ who ‘cuts up bodies’. When the client heard Ramon’s name, he confronted Lulu, who started to claim her husband was abusive and wished he’d ‘disappear’.

While Mundo told the woman he would help hire a hitman, he went straight to warn Ramon.
“It was all about the money,” he said. “She knew how much money I was worth dead.”
Denying the abuse allegations, Ramon believed Lulu ‘felt she had no other choice’ but to have him killed.
So, he went to the police. Paired up with Mundo, they gathered as much evidence as they could and presented it to investigators.

“If I died after the divorce, my kids would get everything. So she wanted me out quickly. They then brought their undercover investigator,” he added.
But to make it work, the police needed to make it look like Ramon had actually been killed.
Faking his own death
He recalled: “They showed me all these photos of dead men with bullet wounds to their heads. It was horrific. But I just thought, ‘Let’s do it, let’s go.’”

Bloody makeup was painted on to his head, making it look as though he had been shot through the temple.
While ‘dead’ Ramon was posed as though his hands were tied, an undercover agent posed as a hitman and met with Lulu.
Secretly caught on camera, she laughed as she discussed payment before being arrested.
Lulu pleaded guilty to second-degree solicitation of capital murder and was sentenced to 20 years in prison. Despite what went down, Ramon forgave her.

Having found love again afterwards, he also published a book in 2019 named I Walked on My Own Grave.
