A man has opened up about how his wife 'completely flipped out' and accused him of being an 'animal abuse enabler' after he gave their son non-vegan food.
While more people than ever are choosing to follow a plant-based diet, the subject of veganism still continues to spark debate - especially when it comes to children.
Of course, deciding to follow a vegan lifestyle is all down to personal choice, which is why some may pose an issue with children being vegan because of their parents choices and not their own.

Well, this is a predicament one man found himself in recently with his wife - who is follows a vegan diet - and their 12-year-old son.
Taking to none other than Reddit's 'Am I The A**hole' forum, the man explained how he and his wife have been married for eight years and share their pre-teen son together.
"About 6 years ago, my wife decided to go vegan," he said. "She was sent the documentary Dominion by a vegan friend of hers and ever since has said nonvegan food is 'revolting' and refuses to eat it."
The man explained after a 'long conversation', he decided to go vegetarian and be vegan in the house and around her, something which she was happy with.

His wife wanted their son to be fully vegan however, and after visiting a dietician to check this would be healthy for the young boy, the man eventually agreed.
"Things have been fine with this arrangement until a few months ago when I began finding wrappers from nonvegan candy and even burgers from McDonald's in my sons school bag which he had been buying with chore money," the dad explained.
After speaking to his son, the dad soon realised how the vegan diet made the lad feel 'lonely and excluded' around his friends when they were eating, especially as they 'always had much better candy than he did'.

The man explained how he didn't want his son spending his pocket money on snacks and throwing out the vegan snacks they bought him, and while acknowledging how his wife feels, he admitted to starting to buy his son what he wanted on their way to football practise.
But when his wife found out, she 'completely flipped out'.
"She called me an animal abuse enabler and a few other names and said I was corrupting our son," he explained.

"Now she is not speaking to me, our son panicked and told her I had bought the snacks for him and he didn't know they weren't vegan."
People were quick to take to the comments section with their opinions, with many siding with the dad and his son.
"The son is at a age where he can make decisions about his own diet, if his mother was more approachable he wouldn't have to hide his dietary preferences," one said, while another pointed out: "Veganism is a choice, the kid is old enough to decide if that's what they want."
But some came to the wife's defence, and while acknowledging that she was being too restrictive over her son's dietary choices, one pointed out how the husband shouldn't have gone behind her back and instead communicated the issue properly.
