The ocean can be a pretty daunting place to wind up in and, for some people, it can also be their place of work.
And it's clear that even spear fishermen can have bad days at the office after one got up close and personal with a shark.
It did not end well. See it here:
The POV-style video, uploaded to Reddit, starts off showing the spear fisher lolling about in the ocean looking for potential prey to snatch up.

Taking place in North Queensland, Australia, the video then pans to a group of small fishes swimming around the fisherman as he looks below at the sandy reefs when, all of a sudden, a predator appears.
Seemingly out of nowhere, a massive bull shark swims right into the fisherman at full-force. Jaws wide-open and all.
Talk about wrong time, wrong place.

Thinking quickly, the fisherman jabbed the shark right in the back of its mouth and through its head with his spear.
The shark thrashed around with the spear down its throat desperately trying to lurch forward at the man.
Persisting, the fisherman pushed down further causing the shark to bleed profusely from its mouth just before giving one final jab and letting go of the weapon.
Making his way to the water's surface, the fisherman took a breath and then headed back down into the watery bloodbath below.

Below him, the shark still had the spear lodged in its throat as it rolled about lifelessly falling to the bottom of the ocean's floor.
After potentially nearly losing a limb - it's certain that the fisherman wouldn't have been too annoyed over the lost equipment.
The spear fisherman who defeated the shark has since spoken up about the event.

He said he couldn't believe how 'lucky' he was to walk away 'without a single scratch'.
After seeing the shark swim towards him, the fisherman quickly knew it wasn't just 'sizing him up'.
"That shark was going to take a bit out of something. It was going to be or the spear gun - it definitely was attacking," he said.
The post, uploaded to the Next F*****g Level subreddit, has received a whole heap of comments from people eager to weigh in on the man versus beast fight.
