A man who was born blind has revealed what he finds the most interesting about the sense of sight.
Tommy Edison is an American content creator and radio host who is well known for using his humour to give his followers an insight into living without sight.
Though he has not posted on YouTube in over a year, he would often post fun challenges that would require him to complete challenging tasks, such as painting a wall.

But in a video uploaded in 2016, the 61-year-old made a particularly heartfelt video about what he things having vision is like, and what fascinates him about the concept.
Calling vision 'incredible', he admits that he has no idea about how it works, explaining that he can't comprehend being able to carry out certain tasks, and how some things aren't possible.
"Like, you can't see in the dark," he explained, adding: "And your eyes have to adjust to it and stuff."

For Edison, he doesn't have trouble either way, learning to get around with the help of his cane.
"One of the things that blows my mind is depth perception, like how far away things are," he pointed out.
The YouTuber went on: "For example, you're driving a car at 45 mph, and then there's a red light, and you just slow down gently - and boop, you're right into position and you're right next to another car or whatever!"
Admitting that he doesn't 'understand how that all works', he gave another example: "(If) there's a crowded room, and across the room you see one of your friends, you know that you can just walk right through that crowd and find them.

"And just keep your eye on them and you get right to them. It's really cool to me."
The film critic said he doesn't recognise friends 'unless they come up or they shout across the room', meaning he sometimes has to make his way across the room with his cane, putting the gift of sight into perspective for those of us with vision.
"Being able to catch a ball is neat," the social media personality further explained.
Adding that people have to tell him to put his 'hands out' when a ball is coming his way, he also revealed that being left alone at a baseball game can be terrifying.

"(When) I'm sitting by myself I'm always scared to death that I'm going to get hit with a foul ball," he said, citing videos on ESPN of people holding ice cream in one hand, managing to catch a foul ball with the other.
Admitting that he struggles to understand three-dimensional shapes and particularly, drawing them on paper, he doesn't know how people can 'see a car' after a simple drawing.
Edison said that sculpting made more sense, 'because it's three-dimensional and you could make something like a car and you could put the wheels on the bottom and everything'.

He concluded by stating that people with sight have 'a gift', and opened up about how it took him years to 'fit into my own skin', as he still struggles to understand sight.
"I always figured that sighted people see everything. I'm surprised when you don't see something," the content creator also admitted.
To make it easier for people to understand where he's coming from, he also suggested: "Imagine what my world is like, not being able to see being blind my whole life.
"That's how foreign it is for me to imagine what you guys do, and how vision works and what it's like to see."
