You can’t beat a properly thoughtful, meaningful gift.
I mean, don’t get me wrong, I love getting my new socks and toiletries on
Christmas Day, but those sweet, surprising and touching presents are always the best.

And this woman has people in tears with the poignant gift she got her dad.

Her on-screen caption added: “I’ve been waiting 30 years for this.”
In the video, she hands him a card and a little bag but he squints at the paper and declares: “Holy sh*t I can’t read that.”
So, presumably the woman who is her mum takes over reading the card for him.
And that’s where things get rather emosh.

“Dad, this was one of my most vivid childhood memories (how I remember it),” the woman wrote as she recalled her dad leaving her in the car while he went into the card store.
“Money was tight so you were selling your most prized possession (at least what I viewed it as).
“In that moment, I felt your sacrifice. It taught me that I would do whatever necessary to ensure my future family never needed for anything.”

She says the lesson stuck with her and taught her the value of ‘the greater good’.
“As you got back in the car with extra cash (to pay whatever bill was due or groceries needed) my seven-year-old mind was determined to buy it back.”
Yeah, you can see where this is going.
She concluded: “Seven-year-old me would be so elated to see that I finally fulfilled that promise I made to myself. Thank you for everything.”

And becoming very tear-eyed, the dad opens up his present to find a Dan Marino American Football card.
TikTok users called it a ‘beautiful moment’ as one put: “Something about bringing a grown man to tears of joy always gets me.”
Another put: “The card wasn’t the real gift to him. It was hearing his impact on you. Priceless.”
Plenty said they are ‘sobbing’ as one said: “When he started crying I LOST IT.”
And others echoed: “What an impression he made for his kids and a real life lesson. Love this so much.”
I'm not crying, it's my allergies.
