Most women know all too well what the trials and tribulations of trying to find an outfit for a wedding are like.
White is completely off the table, you can't look too casual and you don't want a dress that's excessively revealing, so all in all, tracking down a suitable ensemble is quite a hellish experience.
Unfortunately for Taylor Fogarty, her efforts to look fabulous in formalwear while celebrating the nuptials of one of her male friends ended up massively backfiring - and she really wound up the bride in the process.

The fashion police would have locked her up and threw away the key for committing this cardinal sin.
Take a look:
Social media users have now been left scared to start shopping for something to wear for the weddings they've got booked in this year, after Taylor 'unlocked a new fear' for them.

The make-up artist, 28, explained in a TikTok video that she had spent $100 (£79.36) on a floor-length dress for her pal's big day which took place in New Jersey to ensure that she was dressed to kill.
As there was 'absolutely no dress code specified', she decided to purchase the pastel blue gown after ransacking the rails in Lulu's as the colour 'suits her well' and really makes her eyes pop.
But after getting her gladrags on and heading to the venue, the wedding guest, from Boca Raton, Florida, realised she had made a big mistake - huge, in fact.

As she watched the bridal party make their way down the aisle, Taylor noticed that she looked as though she ought to be up there with them...as she was wearing the exact same dress as all of the bridesmaids.
"I immediately started going bright red and my stomach was in knots," the mortified MUA said. "I just got so uncomfortable I wanted to leave, I fully couldn't enjoy myself."
That's her off the invite list for every wedding in the US throughout 2024.
All jokes aside, Taylor was forced to have to relive the embarrassment umpteen times during the day as everyone in attendance also picked up on her fashion faux pas.

But worst of all, she had to deal with the wrath of the bride - and although they had met prior, she 'wasn't close at all' to the newlywed, which made the whole thing even worse.
The blonde recalled how she completely bypassed the bridesmaids and instead made a beeline straight for the woman whose wedding colour scheme she had ruined to express her apologies.
Taylor said: "I was so embarrassed, I felt like I had to say something. She played it off like she didn't really mind but I could tell she felt some type of way about it. It was very, very awkward.

"I brought it up with anyone I talked to at the wedding because I was so embarrassed.
"An older man said something about it when I was getting food at the buffet. I just walked away dying inside. It's my Roman Empire because I think about it often. It makes me cringe."
You and me both, girl.
Taylor admitted that in hindsight, her blue frock 'kind of does look like a bridesmaids dress' especially as it is floor-length, but says she simply 'wasn't thinking' when she bought it.
She added: "I wasn't using my brain, but, lesson learned - I will definitely be finding out the bridesmaids dress colour for future weddings that I go to."
Social media users couldn't help but laugh at her monumental blunder, although some people in the comments admitted they had experienced something similar, which made Taylor 'feel better'.
One laughed: "That's a literal bridesmaid dress."
Another said: "This is a fear of mine! I asked before the next couple of weddings to make sure I don't show up in the same colour."
A third joked: "Girl, that is straight out of David's Bridal. What were you thinking?"
A fourth added: "I'd go home and cry for a week."
And a fifth chimed in: "I'd have made you an extra bridesmaid within 20 seconds lol."
