Gettysburg Battlefield, an important civil war historical site - and apparent ghost hunter's paradise.
You don't become one of the most haunted places in America for nothing, with visitors to the site reporting a series of ghostly experiences over the years.
But is the Gettysburg Battlefield actually haunted by the souls of slain soldiers, or is paranoia playing tricks on visitors?
What is Gettysburg?
First of all, super quick history lesson. For those unfamiliar with the US Civil war, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania is the site of a major battle in the conflict and a major turning point for the Union's eventual victory over the confederate states.

Known for President Abraham Lincoln's famed speech, The Gettysburg Address, the site also saw the bloodiest battle in the US civil war.
It's estimated that around 50,000 soldiers were killed during the three-day conflict during July 1863, with the vast majority of the men not receiving a proper burial.
Due to the violent nature of the area and sheer number of casualties from the battle, it is therefore unsurprising to learn there have been countless reports of paranormal activity at the site.

With all the reported ghost sightings, the battlefield (now a US National Military Park) attracts dark tourists and ghost-hunters in their droves, with a Facebook page even set up to share photographs and experiences at the sight.
One site known as a hotspot for ghost sightings is the Wheatfield, which saw some of the most brutal fighting in the battle, with 30% of the soldiers involved dying.
So it's not surprising that many people have claimed to see the ghosts of soldiers here, still running around as though they were in battle.

Looking to go even further and catch the a ghost on camera was YouTuber Pulp Video, who set up hidden camera to film the location overnight.
After combing through hours of footage, the account uploaded a 33-second-clip, which claims to show paranormal activity.
Throughout the clip, footsteps can be heard (its unclear if anyone was present during the time of filming). However, the clip otherwise appears fine upon first viewing.
But if you rewatch it several times, paying attention to the background in the centre, there appears to be a figure moving at about 26 seconds in, just before a flash of light can be seen.

While the jury is still out on this particular video alone, there's plenty of other creepy videos to back up the argument that the Wheatfield is majorly haunted.
A specifically chilling clip was captured earlier this year by Greg Yuelling, who saw ghostly figures running about the field.
“Then we saw these shapes moving in the darkness, they were the size of humans, one of them ran right through the cannon," he said of the experience.

"It was weird, it was scary, it was crazy… my uncle got so scared he rolled up the window."
