A man has explained why he decided to have a diamond embedded into his eye after being referred to as a 'Bond villain'.
Thanks to advancements in science and modern medicine people are able to get prosthetics to replace missing limbs and eyes.
One woman in Canada was even able to regain her vision after undergoing surgery, which allowed her to see through one of her teeth.
However one man in the US has truly stolen the show when it comes to having a unique prosthetic.

When 23-year-old Slater Jones lost his right eye, he decided to give himself a very flashy upgrade, which reflected his work as a jewellery designer. The Alabama native then teamed up with prosthetic eye expert John Imm and had a $2 million (£1.45 million) diamond embedded into his socket.

"I have made around 10,000 artificial eyes in the last 32 years for patients as young as 6 weeks old to 101 years old," Lim said of the design on Instagram.
"This artificial eye is the most valuable in terms of materials. That is a 2 carat diamond. Why not a three carat you ask? Well it wouldn't fit."
Jones eye has, of course, gone viral on social media, as people are dazzled by his two carat shiner.

"Bruh you look like a James Bond Villian [sic]," wrote on person underneath a photo of Jones' eye, while another person wondered if they could get a prosthetic eye made out of gold or other gems.
"I am OBSESSED. Love it," added a third.
The videos also caused confusion as several people wondered if Jones had purposely had one of his eyes removed to make the upgrade, something which he has later clarified as false.
According to MailOnline, Jones had begun to lose vision in his right eye at the age of 17, after developing a toxoplasmosis infection.
Toxoplasmosis is a parasite which is often harmless but can cause serious complications in some people (via NHS).
Complications of the infection include problems with the eyes, heart, lungs or brain.

Jones would undergo several surgeries in an attempt to save his vision, only deciding to get a gemstone inserted into his eye when it became apparent it couldn't be saved.
"I lost my eye, but it brought new light into my life," he said of the unique accessory.
However, not everyone has been dazzled by the ocular accessory, with several people noting the potential safety implications of wandering around with a two carat diamond stuck in your eye socket.
"Shouldn’t you be careful every time you go outside," one concerned person wrote under one of his Instagram posts.
Lets hope the thieves who pulled off the heist at the Louvre don't get any ideas...
