Even though we might all not like to admit it, all of us are scared of something.
There's a woman who is left shaking like a leaf whenever she hears or sees anything Michael Jackson related, while balloons make Clarkson's Farm star Kaleb Cooper's blood run cold.
Although these unusual fears are quite uncommon, there are other phobias which are a lot more predominant.

There's a ton of people who are scared of the dark, have a fear of heights, or start panicking at the thought of being stuck in a confined space - and there's those who have thalassophobia.
This term refers to the intense phobia and fear people have towards large or deep bodies of water - so the ocean, sea or a large lake would be their worst nightmare.
Apparently, there's a few things that could trigger this.

Experts explain that it's often the vastness of the water, the fact that you could be a great distance from dry land, the power of the waves and the potential of bumping into underwater creatures which sets people off.
According to Healthline, most people with thalassophobia have had 'a bad experience with water' which has now resulted in them being scared of it, or it could also simply be a 'fear of the unknown'.
If you are someone who suffers from this, you will likely already know to avoid typing in a certain secret code on Netflix which is bound to trigger you - but it turns out that you also ought to be wary when you're browsing YouTube too.
That's because a host of social media users have just been reminded exactly why being terrified of deep water isn't an irrational fear after all, as this eerie underwater footage proved there are plenty of reasons to be alarmed about what could be lurking below the surface.

Take a look at this:
A bloke named Nick, who seemingly works in the oil industry, posted a video on the platform showing the startling experience while working off the coast of Mississippi in March 2006.
He explained that he and his team were using a remotely operated vehicle (ROV) to 'inspect the flowline jumper' of a gas line owned by Helix Energy Solutions, which is situated 3,000ft below the surface.

But they were left stunned by what showed up on camera during their assessment.
While weighing up the jumper, they were obviously expecting zero interruptions, as obviously no one lives that far down.
But what is believed to be an absolutely massive sperm whale then barged in on the broadcast - before stealing the show for the next 40 seconds or so as it swooped around the ROV.

The creature can be seen gliding past before heading even deeper into the water, which has served as a stark reminder to many viewers that deep water can be a dangerous place - and it's downright terrifying to look at.
Sperm whales can reach lengths of 60 feet and weigh as much as 125,000 pounds, which is about as much as a fully-loaded Boeing 737 airplane, so you wouldn't want to run into one of these down a dark alley.
One viewer said of the footage: "The fact that you can’t see something that big until it’s right next to you in the water is exactly why deep ass water terrifies me."
Another agreed, adding: "This would've scared the hell outta me, thinking it was some kind of sea monster."
A third wrote: "If I wasn't completely terrified of deep water before, I am now!"
And a fourth added: "Thank you, for once again reinforcing my fear of the ocean. That thing is huge and it just pops up out of no where!"
