There used to be a few memes that most people were aware of on the internet, but in 2025, you'd be forgiven for forgetting some hilarious clips of the past.

For example, when was the last time you heard of the formerly viral 'why you coming fast?' guy, or even seen the video?

Social media moves fast, with trends nowadays sometimes lasting days.

But rewind to 2017, and times were simpler.

The talk of the web was a man called Ferdi and his popular rage video, where he was the unfortunate subject of a bike crash.

It's one of the more memorable videos of the 2010s, but the man who lost his temper and had his 15 minutes of fame as a result largely disappeared from the public eye.

That is until recently, when he teased a new and very different venture.

Who is Ferdi?

Best known for sporting a high visibility jacket and a white hat, he's the man in the above video that hit his head on the car.

He's the founder of the famous phrase: "Why you coming fast?"

And for good measure: "You can't see me, are you f**king blind?"

Unfortunately, the cyclist went around the corner that bit too quickly, clipping the wall and crashing into poor Ferdi, who was doing some work on the car.

Luckily for the mechanic, the cyclist was wearing a camera that captured the pair's entire exchange.

But while many have managed to turn their short-lived meme fame into long-term careers on social media, Ferdi didn't manage it.

What was the video and how big was it?

The footage of the cyclist crashing into Ferdi showed him getting progressively more angry, after first asking if his head was bleeding.

Clearly a bit annoyed that he was injured by the accident, people loved the phrases that came from Ferdi in what might be one of the most memorable rages in British internet history.

It did the rounds on the likes of Facebook and Instagram, garnering millions of views, with people in schools, offices, and places around the country reciting the famous words 'why you coming fast?'

Ferdi even released a music video off the back of it, which has been viewed four million times on YouTube.

What happened to Ferdi since?

Since the video went viral, he had a spout where he released a song called 'Why You Coming Fast', and even made an appearance on BBC Radio 1Xtra in the booth, with an interesting rap freestyle.

In an attempt to take advantage of his fame, he hired his friend's son, Snatchy, to manage him and the opportunities that were coming his way.

He would make club and bar appearances and make around £200 to £700 per appearance with a cut taken off the top, but speaking years on, Ferdi recalled asking to sign a contract, which was never agreed to.

A deal was even struck with Boohoo at one point to make 'Why you coming fast?' t-shirts, though Ferdi claims that he was ripped off and made between seven and eight grand for the deal, even stating on the Podghost podcast: "I should be a millionaire."

On top of all of this, he even claimed that he didn't 'make a penny' from the music video.

What does he do now?

Earlier this month, Ferdi revealed he had embarked on a new career: food reviews.

Followers will have seen him building up to this for a while, having asked two months prior if they wanted him ‘to review their food whether it’s a takeaway, restaurant, desserts etc’.

It'll be called ‘Ferdi Eats’ on Instagram, and he explained: “I’m gonna make a new episode about Pakistani foods, Somalian, Turkish cuisine. Indian, English cuisine - too many things.

“Make sure you watch it… stay - don’t go anywhere.”

Good luck to you, Ferdi.
