Adele’s appearance at the Super Bowl in Arizona has become an instant meme after the singer claimed that she was only turning up to see Rihanna’s halftime show performance.
The London-born singer probably isn’t massively into her NFL, but she’s managed to blag a ticket to the biggest sporting show in the world this evening, taking her seat alongside other stars such as Jay-Z, Sir Paul McCartney, and Gordon Ramsay.

Her attendance at the event at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale was actually known long before the big day, particularly when she claimed that she was only going to show up to see what Rihanna had in store for everyone during the mid-game break.
She joked: “I’m going just for Rihanna. I don’t give a flying f***.”
Adele has long been a fan of the Barbadian pop singer, stating in the past that ‘the progression of her superstardom feels steady, well deserved and extremely natural.’

She added: “Even more, she has designed and conquered an entire lane of her own.
“The innovative and groundbreaking world of Rihanna that no one else will ever be safe in and get away with copying.
“She makes her own rules and bends ours.”
Adele went on to say that Rihanna is ‘gracious, loyal and funny goofball of an icon’ adding: “She’s fearless and full of all the right kind of attitude to be everything that she is and will be forever.”

Now, she’ll showcase what she can do on one of the biggest and most iconic platforms in the world.
Still fans have been keeping an eye out for Adele, who looks every bit like she has actually just shown up for Rihanna.
One person wrote: “Adele is just like us. here for Rihanna nothing more.”

Another said: “Adele at the super bowl just for Rihanna she’s so real.”
In just a few minutes, Rihanna will be taking to the stage for her Super Bowl halftime show performance, after which Adele might as well just leave, really.
However, with the game fairly evenly poised and an all-action first half in the books, maybe she's decided that she actually is a fan of all this American Football stuff, and we'll start to see her attending these games more and more.
One day, she might even get to strut her stuff in the middle of the stadium herself, although maybe she doesn't have quite the back catalogue of party bangers that Rihanna has.

Still, if they - as many have suggested - bring the Super Bowl to London one day, you wouldn't back against Adele getting the call.
