Ricky Gervais has recently exceeded his self-imposed two-season limit with After Life, which has just seen its third season come out on Netflix.
Season three of the series is set to be a hit, and fans of the show are eager to find out exactly where the magic was filmed for this moving comedy-drama.
Where is After Life filmed?
Although After Life being set in the fictional town of Tambury, it is actually filmed in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire.
Hemel Hempstead is a commuter town with a historical past. Located near Luton, the town is part of the Greater London Metropolitan Area.
The quaint town square where Tony’s place of work, the Tambury Gazette, is located is actually right in the centre of Hemel Hempstead’s high street, at number 48.
The Old Town Hall, St. Mary’s Church and Gadebridge Park, where Tony often takes his dogs on walks on the show, are also nearby the town square.
Despite looking a little too perfectly antiquated, Jordans Antique Centre and the other pubs, cafes, restaurants and shops located in the town square on the series are real businesses which you can go and visit.
The exact house where Gervais’ character lives in located in Vale of Health, Hampstead. This tiny village is home to a series of charming terraces and cottages, as well as a pond, of all features.
The area has even made it through a multitude of gentrification developments, including a £1Million Community Infrastructure Levy, which would provide 59 more affordable homes for those hoping to live in the area.
