"Best thing ever asked on Saturday morning TV"

Viewers have been left in stitches after a woman asked what a 'quim' is live on Saturday morning TV.

The hilarious mishap unfolded on today's (4 March) episode of BBC One's Saturday Kitchen, when chef Poppy O'Toole came on set to cook for special guest Alesha Dixon.

While cooking alongside host Matt Tebbutt, she opens up about the fact that she was made redundant from her job, only to go on to earn a whopping four million TikTok followers with her potato-related content.

And when asked about her social media success, Poppy tells Matt that it was 'on a whim', but accidentally used the word 'quim' instead.

FYI quim is a rather grim word for female genitals.

Matt was on hand to correct the chef, with Poppy then asking: "What's a quim?"

Poppy O'Toole didn't seem to have a clue what she'd just said.

Clearly he's no stranger to unfortunate mistakes on live morning telly, as the host masterfully brushes it under the carpet before changing the subject.

But viewers at home don't miss a thing, with dozens of people taking to Twitter to discuss the amusing moment.

"'Whats a quim?' Best thing ever asked on Saturday morning TV," wrote one alongside a series of laughing emojis.

Another said, "#saturdaykitchen did she really just ask what a 'quim' was," to which a third replied, "Poppy right now not having a CLUE what she said lmao."

People couldn't help but laugh at the hilarious blunder.

A fourth chimed in: "Wonderful wonderful scenes as the word quim gets said twice instead of whim on #SaturdayKitchen. Highlight of the year so far."

Others praised how Matt handled the situation, including this person who said: "And the award for the keeping of the straight face of the year award goes to @matt_tebbutt the consummate professional!!!"

"Mixing up whim and quim... Matt does well to hold it together," quipped another, while a third added: "How did Matt keep it together? So glad I caught it live this week."

And then there were those who fell in love with Poppy even more.

"The beautiful and talented Poppy O'Toole has just made my morning," exclaimed one viewer. "Innocently saying "on a quim'. It's kept me laughing for the last 5 minutes."

A second chimed in to say the chef is their 'new hero'.

Yes, quim is now trending.
Twitter

The comment has made such a huge impact, #quim is now trending on Twitter.

One person shared a clip of the moment, writing: "Of course I had to see why it was trending #quim."

Another joked: "When I woke up today I’d never have imagined that 'Quim' would be trending in the UK."

Hats off to Poppy - she might have embarrassed the producers this morning, but her mishap will go down in TV history.
