Brendan Fraser says he’s down to shoot another Mummy film.
As the actor is currently facing a career resurgence, he recently told Deadline he’s interested in returning to the franchise that made him a household name.
When asked if he’d say ‘yes’ to kicking a little ancient zombie butt, Fraser replied: “I’m not opposed to it, I don’t know an actor who doesn’t want a job.

"I don’t think I’ve been this famous and unsalaried at the same time in my professional life so sign me up!”
In 2017, Tom Cruise stepped into the lead role for a franchise reboot that was ultimately meant to kick start the Dark Universe - a modern cinematic universe based on the classic Universal Monsters film series.
However, due to the film’s disappointing box office performance, the entire universe was scrapped.

But perhaps Fraser might just be the special ingredient missing to resurge it.
The studio might want to get in quick, as Fraser is becoming one of Hollywood’s highly sought actors thanks to Darren Aronsky’s The Whale.
In the movie, Fraser plays a reclusive overweight English teacher who attempts to reconnect with his 17-year-old daughter, played by Stranger Things star Sadie Smith.
Fraser is already generating serious Oscar buzz for his portrayal.

In a recent interview with Late Night with Seth Meyers, the actor opened up about the movie’s response, in particular the six-minute standing ovation it received at the Venice Film Festival.
"I just broke out crying. That solved all the problems," he said.
"I feel like I'm still waiting for someone to walk in and tell me that the jig is up, you know," he added.

Fraser told Meyers it was essential to be highly ‘authentic’ in the role.
He explained: “Very often when obesity is portrayed in films [it] has been unfair, it’s been a silhouette of a costume, inside an actor who’s quite fit, [it] just seems to reorient the way we believe that someone can actually move and exist.”
When speaking of the film’s use of extensive prosthetics, he said: “What you see is what you get - it’s an actor in a suit that is cumbersome enough to drive home the authenticity of what it appears to be an individual or person who lives with that challenge.”
The Whale is set to be released February 2.
