Benedict Cumberbatch was quick to react when a reporter suggested his The Imitation Game co-star Keira Knightley looked ‘worn out’.
The duo were promoting the flick back in 2014, when interviewer David Poland told Knightley: “You look a little worn out.” You can see the moment here:
At first, Knightley attempts to respond to the comment, before the Sherlock star cuts in to say: “That’s not a nice thing to say to one of the most beautiful women on the planet.”

Picking up on his vibe, Knightley then shot back: “Yeah, f**k you!” before starting to laugh.
Although it appears the actor wasn’t actually upset by the remark as she simply went on with the interview explaining that she was ‘really hungry’, which could explain why she wasn’t particularly chirpy that day.
Fans of the star praised Cumberbatch for his quick response, with one person commenting on YouTube: “Benedict Cumberbatch really outdid himself. Props to the gentleman!”

Another said: “‘That's not a nice thing to say to one of the most beautiful women on the planet.’
“Classy as always without missing a beat, Benedict Cumberbatch Is literally amazing. And the fact that he spoke up so quickly STOPPED her from doing what she was about to do - which was apologise and explain herself. And then it gave her the moment to keep her agency and speak up for herself.”
A third wrote: “I love Benedict, he's such a good man. Not enough blokes like him these days.”
Earlier this year, Sherlock co-creator Steven Moffat issued a plea to Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman to ‘come back for a fifth season’.

The popular show ran for a total of 13 episodes between 2010-2017 with Cumberbatch playing the role of Sherlock Holmes and Freeman taking on the part of Dr John Watson.
Sherlock follows former army doctor Watson who finds himself sharing a flat with Sherlock Holmes, a rather eccentric individual with a knack for solving crimes.
Together, they take on the most unusual cases.

While promoting West End play The Unfriend on BBC Today program back in January, Moffat said he would 'start writing tomorrow' if stars Cumberbatch and Freeman would return.
“They’re onto bigger and better things but, Martin and Benedict, ‘please come back?’,” joked Moffat.
Fans may remember that season four ended with Holmes confronting his evil sister and villain Jim Moriarty in the final episode, meaning there is definitely scope for another season.
