Miley Cyrus' older brother has claimed that his father, Billy Ray Cyrus, has threatened to take legal action against him.
Trace Cyrus, best known for being the guitarist of Metro Station, has taken to social media to share his concern for his dad.
The 'Shake It' star, 35, recently admitted that he was 'worried' about Billy Ray, 63, following his performance at President Donald Trump's inauguration.

Trace said he feared he might be 'losing' his father following the Liberty Ball gig, with many people dubbing the performance a 'trainwreck'.
Following the performance, Billy Ray told People: "I was there because President Donald J. Trump invited me.
"I had a ball at the Liberty Ball last night and I’ve learned through all these years when the producer says, ‘You’re on,’ you go entertain the folks even if the equipment goes to hell.

"I was there for the people and we had a blast. That’s called rock 'n' roll!"
Now, his son has penned a heartfelt letter to him on Instagram, writing: "Dad my message was beyond loving. I could have been extremely honest about a lot more but I don't want to put your business out there like that. But for you to threaten me with legal action for wanting you to get help is a disgrace."
Trace then spoke about his grandfather, adding: "Pappy is looking down at you with such disappointment I can assure you. You should be ashamed of yourself. I will always love you but I no longer respect you as a man.
"Everyone close to you is terrified to tell you how they really feel. I'm not. Get help."

That wasn't all though, as he took to the comment section, urging fans to show their support.
"Send my dad some words of encouragement guys!! I have faith the man we all once knew is still in there somewhere. We gotta get him back," Trace insisted.
He then followed this up with further social media posts, posting some throwback photos of the two on his Instagram Story.

One of them showed him walking in a field with his father, captioned: "Father's Day 2022. I'd say this was the last good day I had with my dad."
Billy Ray adopted Trace and his sister Brandi, 37, back in 1993 when he married their mother, Tish, 57.
The 35-year-old provided a further update in another post, writing: "For all of you wondering no I still haven't heard from my dad. He did contact a family member to let me know he's taking legal action against me for encouraging him to get help.
"Dad I live 30 minutes away from you. You could've just come & talked to me like a man."
Trace had already posted a long message to his dad on Thursday (23 January), saying that he thought he was 'the coolest person ever' when he was growing up. He also described the day he was adopted by Billy Ray as 'the happiest day of my life'.

"Sadly the man that I wanted so desperately to be just like I barely recognise now. It seems this world has beaten you down and it's become obvious to everyone but you," he claimed.
The American musician added: "You may be upset with me for posting this. I really could care less at this point. Me and the girls have been genuinely worried about you for years but you've pushed all of us away.
"Noah desperately has wanted you to be a part of her life and you haven’t even been there for her.
"That’s your baby girl. She deserves better. Somehow just like me she still idolizes you though. We are all hanging on to memories of the man we once knew & hoping for the day he returns."
