Reporter thanks people for support after sharing 'uncomfortable' Blake Lively interview moment

Kjersti Flaa said she was 'truly touched' by all of the support she had received since publishing the 2016 interview with Blake Lively

The reporter who called out Blake Lively for her behaviour in a 2016 interview has thanked people for their support after sharing the footage of the awkward encounter online.

Journalist Kjersti Flaa, 51, took to social media to explain she was 'truly touched' by the thousands of kind messages she has received since uploading the video of the interview with the It Ends With Us star.

She sat down with Lively, 36, and her Café Society co-star Parker Posey, 55, eight years ago ahead of the release of the rom-com, but the interaction ended up going sideways.

Rather than the award-winning writer striking up a pleasant conversation with the pair about the movie, she instead ended up fielding what fans think were very thinly-veiled jabs from Lively.

Flaa explained that the experience left her weighing up whether she was in the right job, although she now feels somewhat vindicated after hearing the public's opinion about what happened.

In a post shared on her Instagram Stories, the writer expressed her thanks to those who have got behind her after she uploaded the footage to YouTube on Saturday (10 August).

Flaa wrote: "Thank you to all you wonderful people out there who have sent me so many messages with support after I posted this interview. I am truly touched."

The Los Angeles-based reporter has interviewed a string of high-profile stars throughout her career, including the likes of Robert De Niro, Kim Catrrall, Keanu Reeves, Morgan Freeman and Leonardo DiCaprio.

However, it's the 2016 chat with Lively which has remained ingrained in her brain...for all the wrong reasons.

In the clip, which was shot sometime before July 2016, Flaa kicked off the interview by congratulating the actress on her second pregnancy with her husband Ryan Reynolds, saying: "First of all, congrats on your little bump!"

However, the mum-to-be didn't seem too impressed by the remark.

Lively shot back by saying 'congrats on your little bump', despite the fact the journalist was not visibly pregnant, which obviously caused quite an awkward atmosphere.

The actress then made matters worse with her response to one of Flaa's questions about what she and Posey thought of the 1930s costumes they wore on the set of Café Society.

The Gossip Girl alum quipped: "Everyone wants to talk about the clothes, but I wonder if they would ask the men about the clothes?"

According to Flaa, all of these prickly moments resulted in her to consider leaving the industry because she was made to feel so 'uncomfortable'.

She titled the footage on YouTube: "The Blake Lively interview that made me want to quit my job".

The journalist then further explained her grievances with The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants star.

Flaa wrote: "Sitting down with Blake Lively and her co star Parker Posey for Cafe Society (2016) is the most uncomfortable interview situation I have ever experienced.

"Is it not ok to congratulate someone on their pregnancy or to ask another woman about costumes she is wearing in a film? Let me know what you think in the comments."
