'Heartbreaking' update given by Bruce Willis' daughter on her dad's dementia

'Heartbreaking' update given by Bruce Willis' daughter on her dad's dementia

Bruce Willis' daughter Tallulah admitted his complex health conditions have been a 'hard thing' to navigate

Bruce Willis' daughter Tallulah has given an update on her father's health amid his diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia.

The Die Hard legend, 69, was diagnosed with the condition which affects the front and sides of the brain in February 2023, a year after he was forced to step away from the spotlight while navigating the language disorder aphasia.

Since his shock diagnoses, his loved ones have decided to take the opportunity to 'spread awareness' about Bruce's health struggles in the hopes that they can help others.

Daughter Tallulah - who he shares with ex-wife Demi Moore, alongside daughters Rumer, 36, and Scout, 33 - has previously been forced to defend their open and honest approach to the situation.

However, fans of the Hollywood star have hailed the family for sharing intermittent updates on his health condition.

Now, Tallulah has again brought us up to speed on how Bruce is doing.

She explained that the father-of-five - who also shares daughters Mabel, 12, and Evelyn, ten, with his wife Emma Heming Willis - is 'the same... which in this situation, is a good thing'.

Speaking to E! News, the 30-year-old said: "Our visits have so much love and I feel that.

"And that overarches anything for me - being able to have that connection.

"I know he knows how much I love him, I know how much he loves me. I know how much he loves all of us.

"So you know, it's a hard thing. It's a hard thing for anyone going through this. But it has really created an opportunity for more love for my family."

She explained the Willis brood are a 'very supportive and very sturdy' bunch who are in 'constant contact', while reiterating the reasoning behind why they have been so candid about Bruce's condition.

Tallulah continued: "We are in a very unique position where we have this platform, have a voice and have eyes on us. I think it's been ingrained into us, I know for me especially, how can we use something thats painful or challenging or a struggle and create awareness about it."

The actress, from Los Angeles, went on to say that the birth of her sister Rumer's daughter, Louetta, in April last year has helped them heal, as the tot has become their 'centre of gravity'.

Tallulah also told People that she visits her dad as much as her hectic schedule allows it - but admitted she sometimes has to give herself a pep talk beforehand.

She says she prepares herself by going 'into it open to what the visit is'

"And knowing that before I go in, I'm solid, I'm okay," Tallulah added. "I've done what I need to do to make sure that I can just be present.

"But whatever kind of day it is, my family and I meet him where he's at."
