Dentist exposes ‘real cost’ of Kanye West’s 'permanent' titanium teeth reportedly worth £669,109

Dentist exposes ‘real cost’ of Kanye West’s 'permanent' titanium teeth reportedly worth £669,109

The rapper showed off his unusual dental work on social media

A dentist has revealed how much he reckons Kanye West’s titanium grill will have set the rapper back amid claims he splashed out a whopping $850,000 (£667,896).

The 46-year-old star recently showed off some very shiny dental work transforming his usual pearly whites for a gleaming titanium mouthpiece.

According to a source, the 'Through the Wire' rapper’s new gnashers are permanent and attached to his own teeth.

A source told Page Six: “They are, as the name suggests, fixed and permanent, but this goes way beyond veneers or grills.

“And his particular implant is quite unlike anything that has been done before.”

Ye worked with Doctor Thomas Connelly, who manufactured and fitted the dentures.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, the dentist said: “Ye was a pleasure to work with at every step of the process.

“His vision for designing unique art transcends the dental progression.

“The marriage of his vision with dental science has created a new look that is epic."

However, now Aussie-based cosmetic dentist Doctor Sam Koh has shared his views on Ye’s new-look and he thinks it could spell out trouble for him in the future.

Dr Koh believes that as the mental dentures are fixed they could be difficult to keep clean.

He told the Daily Mail: “Although it has been reported that the dentist has given him custom equipment to help clean his teeth, such a bulky one-piece appliance is going to be hard to clean,' he explained.

“Microscopically, there will be a lot of food, bacteria and debris getting underneath the titanium which can then cause a lot of bad breath, sensitivity, tooth decay and gum issues such as disease and infection if the titanium is there long term.” Not ideal.

The dentist went on to suggest that Ye’s new mouth-wear may even have an impact on his career as they could alter how he raps.

The titanium teeth are reportedly fixed in place.

“Cosmetically they also appear rather bulky and could change his facial appearance and soft tissue structure and would also impact how he talks, sings and raps,” he said.

Dr Koh also addressed the rumoured price of the unique dental work and thinks they’re not worth the $850,000 that’s been suggested.

He said: “Practically and clinically, the titanium, labour from both the dentist and the lab making the ‘teeth’ wouldn't cost anywhere near this much

'It's really hard to estimate something unique like this, but if someone were to do something like this in Australia, it would only perhaps cost maybe at most, $100,000 AUD ($65,800US/£51,713) or less!''
