Anchorman star Christina Applegate has shared what her life goals are following her multiple sclerosis (MS) diagnosis.

Applegate recently updated fans on her condition after she received a standing ovation at the Emmys earlier this year.

The actor first revealed her diagnosis back in 2021, saying it had been a 'strange journey' and that she'd received support from others affected by MS.

After her appearance at the Emmys, Applegate admitted that she kind of 'blacked out' and didn't even remember what she said on stage, then said that she was 'living in hell' with her MS but stressed that 'the support is wonderful'.

She faced up to the realism of her diagnosis, saying MS was a 'progressive disease' and that it's 'never a good day'.

At other times she's spoken of the fears of feeling like a 'burden' and opened up about 'not enjoying living', saying that she thinks it's important to express her thoughts even if they made someone uncomfortable.

MS is a disease which affects the brain and spinal cord and can cause serious disability.

Symptoms can be treated to an extent, but they will often get steadily worse.

The disease can affect a person's vision and movement, resulting in them becoming fatigued and significantly less able to move around.

To be a tad personal with you for a moment dear reader, having cared for a family member with MS I can tell you that it is startling how in a matter of just a scant few years MS can reduce a relatively healthy and active person to being unable to walk unaided.

Words cannot quite do justice the impact it has on a person's life and how much it limits what they can do.

As for Applegate, she's still got some goals she wants to tick off the list and has taken to social media to share them.

She wrote: "There are things I want to do with the days I have left in life. I want to work with Shirley MacLaine And do shots with cher! And yes my days are so big. Just saying."

I's not just working with Shirley MacLaine and doing shots with Cher that keep Applegate's attention, however, as she later wrote about her passion for the show Love Island.

"I adore Love Island. Have watched every season," she wrote on social media.

"I have a beef with production and contestants. Can you pls stop making weird sounds with your water bottles? Like holding straw in mouth and chewing it and not sipping.

"Or girls with long nails making clicky clackety sounds on ha.

"Also to add to my Love Island rant. White deodorant on the armpits in the heat is gross. Now you all are very attractive people, please use clear deodorant!!!

"The white puss looking s**t in the folds is not bueno. This is just me helping you be the best version of you. Haha."
