Chris Martin made a brutal comment when directly addressing the ‘CEO kiss cam’ incident.
Easily one of the biggest viral moments of the year, it’s been just over a month since the ‘Coldplay Couple’ were picked out by internet sleuths.
A clip of them in ‘Another’s Arms’ shown on camera at the concert in Boston eventually led to a Gwyneth Paltrow video, resignations and The Simpsons conspiracy theories.
Martin had a bit of a mortified reaction at the time, as he feared he’d caught two people ‘having an affair’.

With it turning out to be Astronomer CEO Andy Byron (well, he’s now the ex-CEO) and Astronomer's (now also former) Chief People Officer Kristin Cabot caught on camera, it became a bit of a scandal for the tech company.

General sale tickets for the band's UK dates are still available from StubHub, Viagogo and Seat Unique.
“Holy s**t! I hope we didn’t do something bad,” Martin had said at the time when the jumbotron captured them looking pretty close, before they sprung apart and tried to duck out of view.

The ‘feelslikeimfallinginlove’ singer then went on to allege: “Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy.”
Thanks to the digging of social media sleuths, it became clear that while the pair were each married, they weren’t married to each other.
Martin kept up the joke at following shows as he asked a couple if they were ‘legitimate’, but seems to have held back from directly saying anything about the ‘kiss cam scandal’.
That is, until the show at Sewell Group Craven Park in Hull on Monday (18 August).
The jumbotron is still a part of Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres World Tour and Martin said to the crowd: “We are so happy to be here. Many of you have written signs. So, I'll take some time to try and read some signs. Then we'll see what happens.”

The ‘Fix You’ singer read out one fan’s sign that said they’d seen Coldplay ‘three times in three months’.
“You were at that Boston gig,” Martin said, “well, okay, thank you for coming again after that debacle.”
It’s said the singer then continued: “We've been doing [the Jumbotron] a long time and it is only recently that it became a... yeah.
"Life throws you lemons and you've got to make lemonade. So, we are going to keep doing it because we are going to meet some of you."
The below video contains some strong langauge:
Speaking further, he said: "This is called a jumbotron, and we've done this for a long long time, and we pick people out to say hello, and sometimes they - yeah, they turn out to be internationally massive scandal, sure.

"But most of the time we're just trying to say hello to some f**king people, that's all. Now all of this bullsh*t.
"We're going to do our f**king kiss cam... so if you're not prepared to be on international news, please duck."
Martin's ex-wife Paltrow was of course hired in a bizarre move as the 'temporary spokesperson' for Astronomer as she answered questions and thanked people 'for their interest in Astronomer'.
