Coleen Rooney has hit back at critics of her relationship with husband Wayne saying she’s ‘not stupid’ and stressing that the pair are still very much in love.
The 37-year-old met her footballer husband when they were just 12 years old and they began dating when they were both 16.
They tied the knot in Portofino, Italy, back in 2008 and have gone on to have four sons together: Kai, 13, Klay, 10, Kit, seven, and Cass, five.

However, their marriage hasn’t all been plain sailing, with Rooney getting caught up in several headline grabbing cheating scandals, including paying for sex.
Speaking about his infidelity, Rooney said: "Foolish as it now seems, I did on occasions visit massage parlours and prostitutes.
“I now regret it deeply and hope people may understand that it was the sort of mistake you make when you are young and stupid. It was at a time when I was very young and immature."

Ahead of the release of her Disney+ documentary Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story, which will centre on the heavily publicised legal spat between her and fellow WAG Rebekah Vardy, Coleen spoke about her relationship and the fact other people like to pass comment on her decision to stay with her husband.
In an interview with The Sunday Times, she said: “I think if you’re in the public eye, people look upon you and think they know you, but they don’t actually.
“We know each other. There’s love there, and if there wasn’t we wouldn’t still be together.
"So I’m not stupid. I know people might say, ‘Oh, I would have left him years ago,’ but why, when you still have something to work at?

"You can comment on my life all you like, but that’s the way I want to live it.
"And hopefully that’s how it always will be.”
Opening up about meeting the footballer, she recalled: “He was cheeky and that turned into charm, and I fell for it.

“Would I have thought I’d marry him? Probably no, but I fell in love. I wouldn’t say it was love at first sight, but it gradually did happen.”
Coleen also praised her footballer husband’s parenting skills when it comes to raising their four sons.
“He is the best at bedtime,” she said of her husband. “Like, he gives them a bath, puts them in bed and you literally don’t hear a peep out of them. With me, I can see to everything and I always get, ‘Mummmm!’”
Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story lands on Disney+ on 18 October.
