David Beckham apparently made a joke response when his former England teammate asked him about Rebecca Loos.
Let’s rewind two decades to the year of 2003. The year the starry Beckham couple were both pushed to the brink by affair rumours.
And it’s something that’s actually addressed by David and Victoria in the new Netflix docu-series, Beckham.
It was widely speculated that the football star cheated on his wife with his former personal assistant, Loos.

The alleged affair is said to have taken place while David was out playing for Madrid and the couple have always denied the claims.
During the new Netflix documentary, Victoria described it as the ‘hardest period’ for the pair, who have been married since 1999.
Posh Spice explains: “You know, up until Madrid sometimes it felt like us against everybody else but we were together, we were connected, we had each other.
“But when we were in Spain, it didn’t really feel like we had each other either.”

And his former England teammate, Jimmy Bullard, claims David made a joke when asked about Loos.
In his 2014 memoir, BEND IT LIKE BULLARD, the star writes that while away with Fulham, his team were staying in the same hotel as Real Madrid.
After spotting ‘Becks’ in the bar he called him over for chat, although his teammates ‘were reluctant’.

Bullard recalls: “But they were soon back when I asked about the rumours that he’d had an affair with the Beckhams’ former nanny Rebecca Loos. ‘What’s happening with Loosy and all that then?’ I said to him. ‘Come on, open up!’
“He started to laugh. ‘To be honest, she fancied Victoria, not me!’ was his reply.
“We all started to laugh. ‘That’s a great “Get Out of Jail Free” card, that is, Becks,’ I said. ‘Don’t give me that, what’s the true story?’

“But he told us he was being serious. We laughed even more.”
In the Netflix docu-series, Victoria admits she ‘resented’ David during the time and said it ‘was the most unhappy I have ever been in my entire life’.
David also addressed the allegations, saying: “There was some horrible stories which were difficult to deal with.
"It was the first time that me and Victoria had been put under that kind of pressure in our marriage."

Director of Beckham, Fisher Stevens, says it was tough asking the Beckhams about this part of their lives.
"It wasn't pleasant, but we got into it," Fisher explained to The Sunday Times.
"For me, I approached it as, 'How did your marriage stay together?' and you'll see how he responds."
