You'd think someone as quick-witted as Eddie Murphy wouldn't miss a trick, but seen as though it took years for a sexual innuendo to sink in for him, it seems we ought to think again.
The actor and comedian, 63, revealed it took him longer than he cared to admit to realise that a fellow celebrity was propositioning him to join in a threesome with him and his wife.
He has conversed with plenty of stars throughout his career and counts a lot of Hollywood's elite as close pals - and some have even been bedfellows.

Murphy has dated a host of famous faces over the years, including Whitney Houston, Mel B, Tracey Edmonds and Paige Butcher, so he's more than used to typical seduction tactics in the celebrity world.
But when it's him who is the one being seduced, the Coming to America actor admitted he can be quite oblivious when people are making advances towards him.
Murphy said he was none the wiser about what Yul Brynner was asking him to do while he ran into the legendary actor at the infamous New York nightclub Studio 54.

To be fair to him, he was most likely three sheets to the wind when he met The King and I star in the early 80s, so it's no surprise that he didn't pick up what the Russian-born actor was putting down.
Speaking to the Mirror, Murphy said: "I met Yul Brynner at Studio 54. Years later, I realised he was trying to pick me up, while he was with his wife and I was 21 years old.
"Yul was like, ‘Would you like to come back with my wife and me and party?’ And I was like, ‘What? We are partying right here?’ and then I didn’t go," he continued.

"Years later, I realised. I was like, ‘Oh, he meant ‘Come partying'. And now I wish I had gone.
"It’s such a better story if I had gone and had a threesome with him and his wife."
Murphy didn't specify which of Brynner's spouses he was propositioned to have a ménage à trois with, as the Broadway star was something of a ladies man who had four wives throughout his lifetime.
But if The Nutty Professor star Murphy was 21-years-old at the time, it would have taken place in 1982 - which is shortly after Brynner split with his third wife, French socialite Jacqueline Simone Thion de la Chaumem in 1981 after a decade.

He then got hitched to Malaysian ballerina Kathy Lee in April 1983, so the timeline is a bit muddy.
But whoever it was, Murphy is still kicking himself about not clicking on to what the couple were offering until all those years later.
