The widow of Hugh Hefner has explained the how the Playboy founder would discretely reveal his sexual appetite via the meal he ate for dinner.
Since Hefner's death in 2017, his widow Crystal has been open in sharing what it was like to live alongside the businessman in the infamous Playboy mansion.
A former Playmate herself, Crystal started dating Hefner in 2009 and earned the bizarre title of his 'number one girlfriend' after previous partner Holly Madison left the mansion.

The pair would go on to marry in 2012 - despite a 60 year age gap - and remained together until his death at the age of 91.
Thanks to various pop-culture references and reality shows such as The Girls Next Door, the Playboy mansion and its occupants would become stuff of legend - until 2022 documentary series Secrets of Playboy shattered this image for good (Playboy would later confirm they had severed all ties with the Hefner family).
Crystal would later open up about her own experiences in the memoir Only Say Good Things: Surviving Playboy and Finding Myself, which detailed what Hefner was like to live with day-to-day as well as secrets of the mansion itself.

One baffling revelation included the fact that Hefner would make his sexual appetite known though his choice of evening meal.
According to an interview with Crystal in The Guardian, Hefner typically enjoyed a rather basic dinner of tinned chicken noodle soup, crackers and cream cheese; an anecdote which was confirmed by his son Marston in an interview US Weekly.
Apparently his favoured was a box of Lipton noodle soup, which is probably about as exciting as it looks.

However, this would change on days where he was feeling particularly frisky, as Crystal revealed the order would change from a bowl of tepid looking soup to a BLT if he was hoping to spend the evening having sex.
As for the reason why Hefner decided to communicate his sexual desires via a meal choice rather than literally anything else, that's something we'll never know.
When it came to the group sex sessions, the 38-year-old revealed that she didn't 'really want to be there'.

"I did things that I wasn’t comfortable with," she added in the interview.
"I wasn’t physically attracted to an 80-year-old man. I was just trying to get through it. And the other girls? Nobody liked each other. But we’d just be there for Hef."
Elsewhere in Crystal's book, she detailed the 'rules' which Hefner would impose on his girlfriends, as well as the fact that Hefner ended up going deaf in one ear to due the amount of viagra he'd take.
