James Buckley’s wife left shocked after he reveals reason he showered with Inbetweeners co-star

James Buckley's wife Clair was left gobsmacked after The Inbetweeners legend revealed he had showered with one of his co-stars from the show.

The revelation came on the husband and wife podcast that they run, called In Sickness and in Health.

Buckley became a household name back in the late naughties after starring as serial liar Jay Cartwright, a teenage lad obsessed with having sex.

Making up one of the four main cast members on the coming-of-age E4 classic comedy series, the show was legendary, running for three seasons before embarking on the big screen twice over.

And while the character was a vulgar teenage boy, Buckley's portrayal of him saw him recognised, with him receiving a BAFTA nomination for Best Male Performance in a Comedy Role.

Now 37, he is a father and married while also embarking on other ventures that have earned him more than one million pounds away from acting.

He and Clair also recently got involved in the podcast boom, launching their own podcast, In Sickness and in Health, where they discuss real life issues while also dabbling in a bit of Inbetweeners nostalgia, with the couple having met during filming of the TV show.

They got married between both Inbetweeners films, showing just how different Buckley was to the on-screen character most people associate him with.

In one episode of the podcast, Buckley reveals that he had, in fact, ended up showing with one of his Inbetweeners co-stars during filming; a revelation that left Clair totally shocked.

"Have you ever played any pranks that you can think of? You were always quite tough on little Joe Thomas during The Inbetweeners," Clair said.

Responding, James said: "Yeah... Joe could probably 'Me Too' me if he wanted to. I've done some very inappropriate things."

"Again though, I was on that set quite a lot and you were all absolutely ridiculous," Clair chimed in with.

James then revealed he had a 'shower with Joe', leaving his wife wide-eyed at the revelation.

He said: "I had a shower with Joe, have I not told you about this?

"Joe didn't ask for me to join the shower or anything. I just did."

Clair, shocked, asks 'naked?' to which James openly says it was 100 percent with no clothes on.

"Honestly, boys are so weird when you get down to these things, boys are so odd," she says.

Explaining the incident further, James recalled: "We were making The Inbetweeners at the time and we were on a beach... but we had to do something disgusting, we were covered in sh*t or something like that. And then we had to shower and get changed, ready for another scene.

"There was a changing room and 20 shower cubicles. All empty, Joe used one and I just said 'I'll use the same one as him'.

"I jumped in and he was like 'oh okay, this in happening then'."

Fans found the story hilarious, with one commenting: "Things only men can get away with doing with their mates."

A second said: "Lololol poor Joe."

And a third said: "I just can't."

While over on TikTok, someone responded that they could 'picture his [Joe's] reaction perfectly as he got in'.
