Pub goers who can't agree on the right way to do the Guinness Challenge are going to have something a bit different to deal with at Jeremy Clarkson's new pub.
Renamed 'The Farmer’s Dog', the pub in Asthall, near Burford in Oxfordshire, reopened to the public on 23 August, 2024 as hundreds of people waited in line to get in.
The Clarkson's Farm star, 64, who has been focusing more on his farm of late, revealed in July that he had paid 'less than £1 million' for the property, around 20 minutes from Diddly Squat.
In his column for The Sunday Times, he said: "As one friend put it: owning a pub these days is even more daft than owning a farm, but there’s something inside a man that causes him to think, when he has the means, it’d be nice to buy the village boozer.

"In my case, however, there was more to it. I had failed to get planning permission to turn a barn on my farm into a restaurant, but I still wanted somewhere where I could sell all that we make here.
"And my own beer in the taps too."
At the pub, Clarkson is, of course, selling his Hawkstone Lager, which could eventually rival Guinness.
One of the ways Hawkstone is hoping to win people over is by copying their drinking trend, the Guinness Challenge.

So basically, loyal Guinness have been tasked with 'splitting the G', which is when you take a massive gulp out of your glass and hope to get the line between stout and head in the middle of the 'G' in Guinness on the glass.
Now it seems the 'split the G' crowd faces stiff competition from Hawkstone, who has shared their own version of the challenge on social media.
It's not hard to guess what it's called either - 'splitting the H'.

Taking to their Instagram account, Hawkstone shared a couple of drinkers attempting the challenge at The Farmer’s Dog.
"If you want to try to split the H - you need to come see us @thefarmersdogpub or @hawkstonearms or at The Farmer’s Puppy bar in the Grand Tour Tent ..see you there!" the video's caption read.
And while one bloke puts up a good effort, he sadly doesn't managed to 'split the H' - and the other 'came up short' on his attempt.

On what the best way to go about it was causing a bit of debate in the comments, however, as one person wrote: "Everyone talking about letting it settle…what about the over pour on both of them.
"Nobody should be having stout dripping over their hands, tidy it up on that pour guys."
"Automatic fail, he didn't wait for it to set," another penned.
