Jeremy Clarkson thinks only one of his Grand Tour co-stars will visit his pub

Jeremy Clarkson thinks only one of his Grand Tour co-stars will visit his pub

The Farmer's Dog has opened its doors close to Jeremy Clarkson's Diddly Squat Farm

Jeremy Clarkson is a busy man, with the former Top Gear man recently opening his first ever pub five years after turning his attention to the world of farming.

But he's not convinced his two longest on-screen mates will be stopping by the newly opened watering hole. In fact, he reckons one will avoid it completely.

Clarkson became a full-time farmer back in 2019, with the subsequent Amazon Prime Video documentary show Clarkson's Farm following his journey from Lamborghini cars to tractors over the past half a decade.

And with filming for the fourth season now in the home straight, the opening of The Farmer's Dog pub is set to feature heavily in series four as Jezza looks at news ways to sell his farm's produce, whether that be Hawkstone lager and cider or beef cooked in the pub restaurant's kitchen.

The pub is around 20 minutes away from Diddly Squat Farm, which is the main focus of Clarkson's Farm, with the watering hole found on the A40 in Asthall, a Cotswolds village near Burford in Oxfordshire.

Opening for the August bank holiday weekend, there were long queues outside the pub all weekend with some punters queuing from 8am on opening day.

And with his other Amazon Prime Video show The Grand Tour shortly coming to an end, Clarkson was asked by press on opening weekend if his co-stars Richard Hammond and James May might call in for a pint or bite to eat.

The end of The Grand Tour is likely to be the last time Clarkson, Hammond, and May work together on-screen having first started out on Top Gear in the early 2000s.

When asked at the pub if the other two would come and visit him at his pub, Clarkson replied: "James probably won’t, but Richard will.

"I talked to Richard only yesterday. We’re mates and we’ll still see them."

May might find it hard to spend time at the pub anyhow, given that signage exists stating he is banned from the pub by Clarkson alongside another very important person.

The trio moved to Prime Video after leaving Top Gear in 2015

A synopsis for the finale has also confirmed the episode will take part in Zimbabwe, with the logline reading: "In their last adventure, Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May ignore the instructions of [producer] Mr [Andy] Wilman and head to Zimbabwe in three cars they’ve always wanted to own, a Lancia Montecarlo, a Ford Capri 3-litre, and a Triumph Stag.

"For a stunning road trip through beautiful and sometimes challenging landscapes leading to an emotional ending on a strangely familiar island."
