Joe Lycett has spoken out on becoming a dad in a new interview for the first time.
And as some people doubted his initial announcement last month, the comedian has addressed prank claims.
The 36-year-old shared a snap to Instagram, thanking Birmingham Women’s Hospital as he said they had ‘masterfully welcomed’ his son into the world.

He added: “I am LOVING being a dad but sadly I think this now means I can’t get out of going on Rob [Beckett] and Josh’s [Widdicombe] f*****g podcast. We will not be taking any press requests about this as we have already sold the rights to the first family picture to Autotrader."
And it seems that’s now come true for Lycett who has indeed appeared on Beckett and Widdicombe’s podcast, Parenting Hell.
Giving an update on his son, he told his fellow comedians: "He's very well. He's just over six weeks."

The star described life with a newborn as ‘somewhere between lockdown and a long-haul flight’.
“And they're two things that I enjoy actually,” he added. “I didn't love lockdown for the obvious bad things, but I enjoyed the simplicity of it and I enjoy a long-haul flight so it's kind of fine.”
Saying there’s a ‘lot of extra admin’ in his partner and his lives, he was ‘really surprised’ to find he’s gotten ‘really into sport’.
“All the games are on between midnight and 5.00am so when you're up doing a feed there's something live on… you feel like you’re part of the world,” he explained.

Lycett is of course well-known for pulling off elaborate stunts from changing his name to Hugo Boss to pretending to shred money because of David Beckham.
But despite the rumours, his photo to announce his son was no ‘prank’.
"I was trying to work out what would the prank be? Because there's always an end game. What would the point of it be?” Lycett said.

“You could turn it into all sorts of things, but I do think it's bold to pretend you've had a baby isn't it? Lots of people thought he was a potato because apparently I wasn't holding his neck properly."
The star also added that he hadn’t intended to announce the birth so soon but had been ‘slightly encouraged by the great British press'. He continued: "We were very happy in our little sort of bubble and then it was sort of popped...I wanted to talk about it when I'd worked out how to talk about it...just live it."
