Jonathan Ross pushed daughter Betty to her first restaurant visit in three years for her 32nd birthday

Jonathan Ross pushed daughter Betty to her first restaurant visit in three years for her 32nd birthday

Betty Kitty Ross celebrated her 32nd birthday surrounded by her family.

Jonathan Ross took his daughter out for a birthday bash last month and the trip also marked another special milestone.

Betty Kitten Ross turned 32 last month and her talk show host dad, 62, pushed his daughter in her wheeled walker as the family headed out for dinner to celebrate.

In images shared via Betty’s Instagram account, Betty and her loved ones - including her mum, Jane Goldman and sister, Honey - dined at the popular Japanese restaurant Okan.

Betty was given a delicious-looking birthday cake which was decorated with pink macarons and a chocolate ganache.

The birthday celebration was the first time Betty had been to a restaurant in over three years.

Two years ago, Betty was diagnosed with the chronic condition fibromyalgia, also known as fibromyalgia syndrome (FMS), which causes pain throughout the body and extreme fatigue.

The NHS says symptoms include: increased sensitivity to pain; muscle stiffness; difficulty getting to sleep or staying asleep, which can make you feel very tired (fatigue); problems with mental processes (known as ‘fibro-fog’), such as difficulty concentrating or remembering things; headaches; irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), a digestive condition that causes stomach pain and bloating; and feelings of frustration, worry or low mood.

The exact cause of fibromyalgia is unknown, however it is thought to be related to abnormal levels of certain chemicals in the brain and how the central nervous system processes pain messages that are carried around the body.

She has documented her health journey on Instagram where she answers questions about using a wheeled walker and fibromyalgia.

In the post’s caption, Betty admitted that the pictures were taken a month ago but she took her time to write the image descriptions and to choose her favourite shots: “Birthday pics and my first time at a restaurant since February 2020!”

She added: “My birthday was on the 9th of July, I'm just posting these pics now bc I only just got round to writing the image descriptions/choosing my faves.”

One of the pictures shows Jonathan pushing Betty in her rollator down the street while she poses by showing two ‘peace’ hand signs.

In January this year, the TV presenter shared a health update, explaining that ‘She still can't walk very far’ and was using a wheelchair.

"We got her an electric wheelchair in the summer, so we can at least go out and go for walks with the dogs and that's lifted her spirits a lot,” he said.

He publicly confirmed that Betty had fibromyalgia in 2021.
