While plenty of eyeballs were focused on last night's Met Gala and the plethora of celebrities showing up in strange styles, lots were a bit worried that Kim Kardashian's dress had gone towards the 'unhealthy'.
It's a chance for the rich and famous to strut their stuff in the sort of outfits you wouldn't normally wear in day-to-day life, but in some cases it'd be a good thing that you hardly wear what's on offer at the Met Gala.
Last night's theme was 'Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion' and the dress code was 'The Garden of Time', which draws inspiration from a story from dystopian fiction author JG Ballard where the rich and aristocratic live in a garden and shelter their existence while a crowd of the poor and needy draw ever closer.

Whether there's any sense of self-awareness from the Met Gala attendees that they're the fancy folk in the garden who cannot delay but not keep out the rest of the world and their suffering forever, we don't know.
What we do know is that a lot of people are worried about Kim Kardashian's dress, with many flocking to social media to voice concerns about it.
The reality TV star was wearing a custom Margiela by John Galliano strapless silver corset over some floor-length silver leaf mesh netting and a grey shrug-style cardigan, and I'm going to pretend I know what some of those words mean.

It's all very fancy and likely expensive, but there are many who don't envy Kardashian her extravagant look.
That's because they've spotted that the corset from her dress makes her waist seem so small that one might wonder where several of her vital organs have gone.
People reacting on social media said Kardashian's waist was making them 'uncomfortable', with others saying the outfit 'actually is concerning' if people tried to emulate it.

Someone else wondered why Kardashian would 'continue to promote an unhealthy waist' as it was 'not natural and healthy'.
Indeed, the reality TV star's outfit is reminiscent of the corsets of old paintings where a woman's waist is so minuscule that you hope the artist is taking certain creative liberties.
That's particularly the case as the pursuit of the hourglass figure led to women being so tightly laced into their corsets that they would faint and over time suffer serious internal damage.
According to the Royal College of Surgeons of England, over time some women's ribcages became deformed, their digestive tracts suffered and their back muscles atrophied through disuse.

It was very much not a healthy thing to do, so one can only hope that Kardashian's outfit is not a regular part of her wardrobe.
By the way, if you were wondering what happens in The Garden of Time, eventually the mob of poor and common folk reach the garden and find the fancy home rotting away, no measure of wealth and power able to fully hold back time or keep the higher-ups fully insulated from the struggles of the world.
