Frankie Muniz revealed he has checked in with the parents of the actor who played Dewey in Malcolm in the Middle.
Muniz, of course, played the titular lead in the sitcom with Erik Per Sullivan playing the famous family’s youngest child.
And ever since the final seventh season aired in 2006, the American show’s stars have mostly stayed in the spotlight.

This is especially true for Hal, aka Bryan Cranston, aka Breaking Bad's Walter White.
However, the same can’t quite be said for Sullivan.
Despite being a fan favourite character, the world hasn't heard much from the 32-year-old since the show's finale.
With so many people still calling out for updates about what he's up to now, Malcolm France decided to ask Muniz if he could provide some insights - and the 37-year-old star was more than happy to oblige.
"To be honest, I don't know what he's up to," he explained. "I hate to say that because I've talked to him a few times since the show ended.

"I've talked to his parents a lot. When I was in the band, we went and played in the city where he lives and his parents came to the show but unfortunately he couldn't make it.
"So I got to talk to them, and he's been all over doing a lot of different things.
"But one thing I know, some actors or some people just got to do it when they were a kid and then they wanted to experience other things and kind of live a more normal life out of the spotlight.

"I think that's what he wanted to do so good for him."
Yes, it appears Sullivan just wanted to step away from the limelight, which is totally understandable.
But that hasn't stopped fans from hoping for an update, with many pointing out that it seems he started an Instagram page, although this is yet to be verified.
In January 2021, a picture was uploaded to the account showing Sullivan all grown up, and the same goes for a post in April that year.

Despite hundreds of comments asking him to respond, we're yet to hear much more from the elusive actor.
Still, here's hoping he's enjoying his life whatever he might be up to today.
In other Muniz news, the Malcolm in the Middle legend previously revealed a bit of a career change himself.

He revealed he wants to start racing and added to Dave Moody for SiriusXM NASCAR: “I just want to be in a race car, so as much seat time as possible is gonna be key for me the rest of this year and next year just to keep learning and progressing.
"That is the goal is to be in a Truck or doing ARCA National or both."
