Nicole Kidman had a response to people who thought the movie she had to pause filming to ‘stop orgasms’ was ‘disturbing’.
The star’s latest film is said to make the likes of Fifty Shades of Grey look ‘tame’ as it’s her most erotic role to date.
Set to land in UK cinemas in the new year, Babygirl is Kidman’s ‘most exposing’ film yet as she stars as a high-powered CEO who risks her career and family ‘when she begins a torrid affair’ with the company’s new, and much younger, intern (Harris Dickinson).
The 57-year-old spoke out in a now infamous interview about how, during filming, she had to stop because she was having ‘too many orgasms’.

And it’s not like this will be the first time we’ve seen the Aussie star in intimate scenes, with her rough sex scenes in Big Little Lies being a heavily talked about part of the series.
But Babygirl does seem to be taking it to a new level as her character, Romy, gets into a racy, BDSM-heavy affair.
Even the opening scenes sees her having an orgasm while with her husband Jacob (Antonio Banderas).
Kidman describes the film as ‘very releasing’ as she addressed the response from viewers.

“I hope it is,” she added to The Hollywood Reporter. “I’ve had some people say it’s the most disturbing film they’ve ever seen, which I’m like, ‘Oh no, I’m so sorry’.”
But the star thinks it gives an important light on a more overlooked point as she explained: “A lot of times women are discarded at a certain period of their career as a sexual being. So it was really beautiful to be seen in this way.”
Kidman went on to describe: “My character has reached a stage where she’s got all this power, but she’s not sure who she is, what she wants, what she desires, even though she seems to have it all. And I think that’s really relatable.”

Helping the star to feel ‘incredibly safe’ on set, intimacy co-ordinators worked with the actors to ‘precisely structure a given sequence’s many twists and turns’ – especially considering the sex scenes being filmed in ‘radically long takes’.
The scenes were blocked out in rehearsals and then would be adjusted during production. And once the camera started rolling, the actors were totally dialled in.
“I never came out of it, really,” Kidman told Vanity Fair.
