Pete Davidson makes honest admission about how love life has had negative impact on career

Davidson said he doesn't want to be known as a 'f**king loser who just dates people'

If there is someone who has an enviable list of ex-girlfriends, it's got to be Pete Davidson.

He's dated some of the world's most successful and stunning ladies, leaving every bloke desperate to know his secrets regarding the art of seduction.

Although he's earned a lot of 'lad' points over the last few years due to his track record on the dating scene, the comedian has confessed that his relationships with high-profile women haven't done wonders for his career.

As we all know, the rise and fall of each of his romances - with the likes of Kim Kardashian, Ariana Grande and Kate Beckinsale - have been well documented by the media.

And according to the 31-year-old, his reputation as something of a ladies man has resulted in him being viewed as a 'f***ing loser who just dates people'.

Due to the fact he's a comedian, actor and writer, Davidson isn't over the moon with this being his apparent image.

In a new interview with W Magazine, he opened up about his decision to 'lay low' over the last year and why he thinks fame isn't all it's cracked up to be.

Davidson explained that he became 'oversaturated' by his celebrity status, saying he 'got hit on the face with the Hollywood shovel'.

"When you’re first coming up and getting all these offers, it’s hard to say no, because you’re hungry," he said.

"I made the mistake of doing literally everything. Now I’m older and wiser, and I’m realising that less is more.

"Like Christian Bale. He does one movie every two, three years, but you go f***ing see it.

"Leonardo DiCaprio does one movie every four years, but it’s the biggest thing in the world. It’s because you miss them. People have to miss you."

But after taking a hiatus from the limelight, Davidson said he had become a lot more content with his life.

However, he still wouldn't mind a bit of a rebrand.

He went on: "I’m very happy where I am right now, mentally. I just want to be known for doing good work.

"I want to be out there only when it’s movie, stand-up, charity, or business ventures. That’s when I want to be seen.

"I don’t want to be this f***ing loser who just dates people. That’s not who I am. But people hate celebrities now.

"The media takes a handful of celebs every couple of years, and they just destroy them. For some reason, I’m one of the people they chose to go after."

Davidson says that in hindsight, the media storm surrounding him and his lady friends was actually a 'blessing' in disguise.

"It allowed me to take a step back and evaluate things," he added. "What do you want to be? Who are you?

"I’m someone who is from Staten Island, wanted to do stand-up, and if I got to do anything else because of stand-up, it was a miracle."
