Slipknot's Sid Wilson in hospital after suffering ‘serious burns’ as girlfriend Kelly Osbourne issues warning

He was caught in a 'bonfire explosion' on his farm

Slipknot's Sid Wilson was admitted to hospital after suffering 'serious burns' after getting caught in a bonfire 'explosion' on his farm.

The 47-year-old posted a video to social media from his hospital bed reassuring fans he was going to be 'ok' despite the serious injuries he'd suffered.

In a video on Instagram, he showed himself in a hospital bed as injuries on his arms and face were being treated.

He said: "Hi everybody, I had an explosion in my face. I’m OK, I’m going to be OK. But I did have some serious burns to my face and my arms.

"I’m going to be all right you guys. I don’t care what it takes, I will see you on tour."

Although he was badly injured in the explosion the heavy metal band Slipknot said they were still expecting him to be with them next weekend for their performance at the Rocklahoma festival in Oklahoma.

The band said: "“Our brother Sid Wilson was in an accident today and sustained burns across his body.

“He’s recovering with his family and will still join us on stage at Rocklahoma next weekend.

“He thanks everyone for the well wishes, and will see you all soon.”

Also at Wilson's bedside is girlfriend Kelly Osbourne, the daughter of Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne.

She posted her own video giving people a warning not to end up suffering from the same accident that Wilson had experienced.

She said: "This is why you don’t f**k with burn piles. He literally set himself on fire, exploded everything."

Osbourne also shared a video of the couple's son, Sidney, born in 2022, playing in the hospital near his father's bed.

Wilson told his fans he was being moved to a specialist facility, but his fans shouldn't worry as he was doing 'pretty good' and was in 'good hands.

The Slipknot turntablist explained that he was going to get his chest x-rayed to ensure that he hadn't inhaled any flames from the fire that had singed his eyebrows and moustache, while also causing blisters on his mouth and arms.

He told fans he got the burns from the remnants of a bonfire that had been burned on his farm the night before.

Slipknot are scheduled to go on a global tour next month, with dates in the US and South America pencilled in before the band heads for Europe.

They will come to the UK in December, with their first show planned for Leeds.
