Spencer Matthews responded to claims he ‘looks sick’ after comments on his physique.
The Made in Chelsea star is currently training for a ‘World Record endurance run’ and has shared the odd snap and video looking pretty ripped on Instagram.
But while the 35-year-old goes through the gruelling process ahead of his challenge – with plenty of cold plunges in ice baths – he’s been getting critiqued by fans.

It seems some of Matthews’ followers felt like the star was getting a little too slim and have been questioning why he is ‘punishing’ himself.
And obviously, the bloke’s health and appearance aren’t really for other people to be freely chatting about and commenting on.
So, he’s hit out with a new post to tell fans their ‘concern is misplaced, and the delivery of that concern is unhealthy’.
“I am fit, well and above all, really happy,” he wrote on Instagram yesterday (26 March).

Matthews explained: “Every single day on this platform, women write to me expressing concern for my appearance…
“They say that I’m too thin and that I look sick… One asked why I’m ‘punishing my body’ and most say ‘hope you’re okay??’”
The dad-of-three went on to say that ‘in fact’ he’s actually ‘the healthiest [he’s] ever been’.

Upping his fitness and training, he said he’s ‘enjoying a disciplined routine’ and is ‘driven with clear goals’.
Focusing on his big endurance run, Matthews insisted training for the challenge ‘is NOT punishment, it’s PROGRESS’.
“Please don’t mistake me pushing myself physically as being unhealthy… it’s not. It’s exciting and in my case, makes me feel alive and full of purpose,” he wrote.

“Not once did I ever receive a single message of ‘concern’ when I was a huge problem drinker – overweight and drastically unhealthy. I wouldn’t have wanted it then and I certainly don’t want it now.”
Receiving plenty of support and praise from fans and friends in the comments, Matthews told people that it’s a ‘simple thing’.
“Don’t comment on anyone’s appearance. If someone looks different there is probably a reason for that.”
And he concluded that his reason is that he ‘found a healthy lifestyle’.

The Traitors star Amanda Lovett wrote in the comments: “You are one awesome individual you aspire to keep achieving phenomenal goals and you do it.
“What an inspiration to your family and friends. And we love you.”
Other fans commented to say he ‘looks the happiest’ he ever has and praised his words.
