The Pope tells Sylvester Stallone he's a huge fan and even throws a fake punch

The Pope tells Sylvester Stallone he's a huge fan and even throws a fake punch

The Rocky actor joked as he put up his fists and asked His Holiness if he wanted to fight.

Sylvester Stallone and his family have been given a rare opportunity to meet The Pope.

The actor was joined by his wife, Jennifer Flavin, daughters Sophia, Sistine, and Scarlet, as well as his brother Frank during the trip to the Vatican City.

Stallone was gushing in his thanks to the head of the Catholic Church 'for taking time' from his 'busy day' to have a quick chat and pose for some photos.

After telling His Holiness that they 'appreciate this very much', The Pope replied: "I am honoured."

He added (via a translator): "We grew up with your films."

Without skipping a beat, Stallone realised he had one opportunity.

He said: "Ready? We box," and threw up his fists.

While an act like that might have spooked Vatican security, it was all laughs in the room and The Pope even threw a fake punch back at Stallone.

The family trip comes not too long after Stallone praised his wife Jennifer on her birthday.

The 77-year-old shared a picture of Flavin to his 17 million followers with the caption: “Happy birthday to my incredible wife, Jennifer!!!”

Just one year ago, it seems like the situation in the Stallone/Flavin household was very different.

They filed for divorce in August 2022.

Then, a month later, they filed an order of abatement and put divorce proceedings on hold.

A representative for Stallone told Page Six: "They decided to meet back up at home, where they talked and were able to work out their differences.

"They are both extremely happy."

The Rambo star has previously opened up about the relationship to The Sunday Times, citing a ‘reawakening’ that led the two to reconcile.

"Let's just say that it was a very tumultuous time," Stallone told the outlet.

"There was a reawakening of what was more valuable than anything, which is my love for my family. It takes precedence over my work, and that was a hard lesson to learn."
